Thought of the day
We might be in for a rough fall and winter here in Idaho.
I have seen the headlines for El Nino:
But sometimes you've got to feel it to believe it.
Last week it was 99 degrees, and this morning it was 48.
It is only supposed to warm up to 61.
I reached out to Fall's weather spokesperson, and they said:
Good times.
Usually, the Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer, but I guess I will be putting away the Speedos early this year.
How are things looking in your neighborhood?

Any blog with Chris Farley is a winner to me.
ReplyDeleteI loved him as El Nino.
DeleteI'd be suspicious of those bedsheets too.
ReplyDeleteIn my part of the country we seem to have gotten lucky this year. Normally the hot weather stays until the middle of September, but it's already been cool and rainy this week.
I guess Blogspot finally fixed the commenting problem.
Enjoy the cooler weather.
DeleteThe heat wave in SoCal broke, will be returning midweek, and appears to be gone by next weekend. It’s been brutal here because we are not used to the humidity that accompanied the heat this time.
ReplyDeletePS: the Safari fix didn’t work for me, but it looks like blogger comments are back to normal today 🤞🏻
Enjoy the calm before the storm.
DeleteOur summer is still going strong with today 97 and the heat index being 115.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for some kind of cool!
That sarcasm is me.
Yikes!
DeleteI am not sure what to expect this winter. I read an article predicting a lot of snow from El Nino. I swear to you, the very next article I read predicted a mild winter. It made me laugh. But two years ago, lake effect snows were dumping crazy snow on us. For example Lou Gramm concert was canceled in Erie because the got five feet of snow overnight. We live an hour away but got plenty of snow where we were at. Multiple storms with record-breaking snowfall. State of Emergency. It was nuts. We all survived but boy. I was so grateful to be retired. I hope winter is kind, but the b**** can get psychotic.. I don't trust her.
ReplyDeleteMe either but since I am a middle-aged man I am required to to complain about it.
DeleteWe are on the good side of El Nino. It usually means a fairly mild winter for us. That sarcasm meme is one of the best I've seen!
ReplyDeleteSarcasm: the brain's natural defense against the less intelligent.
DeleteI'm hoping to wear my swimming trunks (No speedo, LOL!) at least until my grandsons are back in a couple of weeks. However, I'm definitely ready for cooler weather. Glad blogger got their issue taken care of... have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rev. Enjoy your weekend as well.
DeleteLove Chris Farley!
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, the weather patterns are looking just like those bedsheets. Whoa.
And Blogger was being an absolute .... nightmare. I comment from Chrome, so I could not leave comments anywhere! Ugh.
XOXO
It was not fun with Blogger yesterday. Glad it all got sorted.
DeleteHot, dry, hot, dry, hot, dry.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely. I’ve always wanted to know what beef jerky feels like on a spiritual level.

ReplyDeleteMeteorology-the only profession that seems to make stuff up as it goes along.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are really good at it.
DeleteIt's still in the 90's here, next week over 100 again. The end of October should cool down. I am hoping that some of the predictions for El Nino are going to be wrong.
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been glitching for me for days. Seems like they might have fixed the commenting problem for now though.
Me too.
DeleteI've noticed that whatever Farmer's Almanac predicts, the opposite seems to occur here. The sarcasm meme got a chuckle out of me!
ReplyDeleteAs they said in Anchorman: They've done studies and that 60% of the time, it works every time.
DeleteAre Summer has been a bit too hot for the area. We've seen precipitation of late that is truly uncharacteristic. I suppose that's the El Nino weather, eh?
ReplyDeleteWe have seen some weather weirdness over the past few years in our neck of the woods.
DeleteWeather is weather.
ReplyDeleteThat's the rumor.
DeleteIt's been normalish weather here in Western WA but I dread winter. We need snow/rain but will we get enough?
ReplyDeleteIt depends on who you ask.
DeleteI want cool weather!! To me that is 65. I am so sick of the 90s. We got a break for M-W this week of only high 80s and lower humidity. I long for fall. Those bed sheets cracked me up but what do you think an addict of dateline would think? :-)
ReplyDeleteHopefully the cooler weather is heading your way!
DeleteI really enjoyed the 2 days of rain we had; then today it was 80.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
