Thought of the day

"Watching your little ones grow up is a constant reminder of how quickly time passes."

Off they go again.
Kyle is now a junior, and Hayden is an 8th-grader.
Just like last year, I will just be in the corner sobbing for a bit before I stop by your blog and say hello.

And here's a real blast from the past when going to school just got going for us many years ago:

Someone was tired of getting their picture taken.
He hasn't changed his feelings on that one very much, but he is better at hiding it now.

Frizzle Appreciation Month

A little love letter about my favorite yellow lab:

A golden heart, a sunny hue,
A yellow Lab, loyal and true.
With eyes like amber, soft and kind,
A playful spirit, you'll always find.
You greet each day with boundless glee,
A furry friend, you'll always be

Here's the crate:

And here is this week's winner:

Hope your week is treating you well, and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. Holy cow... young adults!! I can sympathize (it goes by so fast and it's hard to let them grow and go). But it's also wonderful and amazing and there's so much more good stuff coming up. School doesn't start until after Labor Day here, but that means we're still in school halfway through June. Hope they have a wonderful year ahead. And that your sobbing in the corner doesn't go on too long.

  2. Great memes and great love letter. One of my granddaughters is starting 8th grade this week, too. They look so much older than I remember 8th grade girls looking back in my day. You have a fine looking pair of kids.

  3. The kids, oy, are looking like almost fully cooked humans!

That A&W one proves how dumb so many people are and they don't even know it!

    Have a great weekend!

  4. They are looking so grown up and relaxed. I hope they have a great start to the year and that it continues. Barked 97 times, ha! I don't like incessant barking but I like that dogs do bark. It's natural.

  5. Sophomore in college and a 7th grader. I'm not sobbing yet as school doesn't start for another week here. But I will be.

  7. Whoa.
They do grow up fast. Just wait for the moment they go to college. Now THAT is going to be something...

    XOXO

  8. It feels odd not to have to hurry around to get kids ready for school. It goes so fast. I like the meme about synonym rolls
