Thought of the day
Well, we get more than 18 inches.
I think we are up to 23 inches since we last talked.
I think we are up to 23 inches since we last talked.
And the kids are on their third snow day.
The last time it was this bonkers in Boise was when Ms. Frizzle was a puppy and I was still riding high on those "that's what she said" jokes.
I did get some good news today.
I have a deviated septum that has become more problematic in the last few years.
The doctor's recommendation was septoplasty.
After getting some feedback, I was not very enthusiastic about this option.
I went back today because it's getting really no bueno so I thought I might have to do the surgery.
Well, they told me that I could get a turbinate reduction to help solve my problems.
This option takes about 30 minutes and I will not look like I got beat up by Mike Tyson.
Meme dump
Thanks for swinging by and I hope you are doing super duper.
I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.
Turbinate reduction sounds like a better option, I agree! Great meme lineup too, especially guacamole!
ReplyDeleteThe guac one is so true. Thanks, Debra.
DeleteYet another similarity in a long list of them. I too have a deviated septum and was prescribed the first procedure which I declined. That was probably 30 years ago and I don't think the second one was an option. Let me know how it works would you?
ReplyDeleteWill do, brother from another mother.
DeleteBoth nose options sound unpleasant. I hope you are able to get a procedure done quickly and painlessly.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Thanks, Bijoux.
DeleteThe people I knew with septum issues all had to have the actual surgery. Your recommended procedure sounds much better.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed it does the trick.
DeleteI thought I'd moved out of the snow belt, but apparently not far enough. We have another two feet coming tomorrow and Saturday.
ReplyDeleteYuck. That sounds awful. Take care of yourself, Joanne.
DeleteI can related to several of these memes. And FYI, I'm the Scandinavian architect.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Kelly.
DeleteOoh, that surgery doesn't sound great so I'm glad you went with the "easier" option. The guacamole one-HAHA! Also I'm the raccoon on meth but John is the Scandinavian architect. He allows me to load his dishwasher but probably redoes everything the minute I leave. :)
ReplyDeleteMrs. Shife is the same with the dishwasher. Drives me bonkers.
DeleteI've never made guacamole so I'll take your word for it. Whichever method you choose I hope your nose is soon much better.
ReplyDeleteThank you, River.
DeleteI have to admit, the dishwasher was my preference, since I'm more like the raccoon. If you think that photo looks bad, never, ever have hernia surgery because everything looks like that... and I mean everything.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, I had my hernia surgery when I was 12 and I don't remember too much of it but I can only imagine how awful it would be at my current age.
DeleteOMG really?
ReplyDeleteWell, given that I'm vain, I'd have a full-on rhinoplasty, if possible. If they're gonna do stuff to my nose, they better make it prettier.
And I had to go in my iphone and enter 'fuck' in the autocorrect so I could type it. I have a potty mouth.
Also, I need that welcome mat. STAT.
XOXO
I thought about it, SP, but the recovery sounds horrible and I am too old and stubborn to deal with that.
DeleteGood luck with your procedure!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanette.
DeleteWhile neither sound like a lot of fun I too think I'd choose Turbinate reduction. I looked like that meme of her nose when I fell and broke my nose. Loved the meme's. Where can I buy that "welcome'' mat
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the lesser of two evils so I think I chose wisely.
DeleteDon't get lost in all that snow. Hope you get a break from it soon. The thing about that much snow is how long it takes to melt. Unless you get a chinook, it insulates itself and can turn snowbanks to icebanks.
ReplyDeleteSo I was curious about the turbinate reduction and did some reading and holy heck, yes, it sounds better than the septoplasty. I hope it does the trick for you. Being able to breathe easily is kind of important.
I love that flat/fat meme and the pigeon on the phone :D
Thank you, jenny_o. I hope it does the trick as well.
DeleteThat looks painful either way. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteTY, MK!
DeleteGood luck with the procedure. When I saw the picture, my very first thought was, "Gees. What does Mr. Shife look like???" Good luck with your procedure.
ReplyDeleteI do love the door mat, and the guac memes.
Thank you, Debby. I will post before/after photos but the doctor said the worst might be a bloody nose.
DeleteWow to your amount of snow, you have double that we do. And wow to your upcoming procedure; wish you the best with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, kden
DeleteThe memes are stellar and anytime you can choose NOT to look like Tyson punching bag is the best way to go!
ReplyDeleteWise words from a righteous dude. Thanks, Bob.
