Bye Bye 99

Kyle and I finished Brooklyn 99.
I really enjoyed that show.
And I really enjoyed watching it with Kyle.
We are in search of our next TV adventure.
We are thinking The Office or Orville as our next series.
I also showed him trailers for Scrubs, Psych, The Bernie Mac Show, Everybody Hates Chris, Community and Parks & Rec.
I also told him that I would watch Brooklyn 99 again.
I am looking forward to our next show.

Self checkout

Check yourself before you wreck yourself is my away message on my work chat.
Somebody asked me about it and I told them that I submitted that message in a contest and it was actually the second runner-up for the 2013 testicular cancer awareness marketing campaign.
I found my response rather amusing.
My co-worker pretended they did.
I am so misunderstood.

Visit Idaho

Knock knock.
who's there?
Grandpa Barry.
Grandpa Barry who?
Grandpa Barry nice to meet you.
My dad is coming to visit.
We haven't seen him in a bit because for some reason it is really hard to plan family get togethers during a global pandemic.
We are excited to see him and look forward to catching up with the big guy.

Lost and found

I have lost my glasses twice.
We have vacationed at Lava Hot Springs twice.
Any guesses on where I have left my glasses?
Am I subconsciously leaving them behind on purpose because I am a big fan of Lava Hot Springs?

Or am I just slowly losing it?
It is probably better for you if I am going crazy because the blog will definitely be more entertaining chronicling my descent into madness.

Meme dump

Hope the week is treating you well.
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.

I am better than I was. I will be better than I am.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. Those are fantastic memes! It’s fun to find shows to watch with your kids. I binged Superstore and loved it. Might only be funny to people who’ve worked retail. I do not find The Office to be that funny, but my husband claims it’s because I haven’t worked in an office in 30 years. Whatever!

    1. I am really liking Superstore, Bijoux. Maybe because I am spending so much time shopping at Wal-Mart lately.

  2. How old is Kyle, Mr Shife? There is a wonderful movie made in the Netherlands called "Patrik 1.5" about adoption. Easy subtitles.
"Has anyone seen my glasses?".....I have two pair in each car (for day and night driving) and I still need one of those librarian string necklace thingies. I'd even do an old ladies broach with a chain pinned to my sweater!
Enjoy your time with your Dad. I miss mine.

    1. He is 12, Jimmy. I need to look up your movie suggestion but it sounds interesting.
I need to get another pair because I am losing my glasses way too often.
Thanks for the well wishes. Sorry about your dad.

  4. I need that sticker for my cat! I enjoy Parks and Rec, but it depends on your sense of humor. It fits mine. My boyfriend doesn't care for it. He also doesn't like Ted Lasso. (which I like but am not always crazy about)

    1. Definitely was into Parks and Rec when it first aired but I haven't watch since it went off the air. I really liked Ron Swanson. He was my favorite.

  5. I guess I was one of millions (billions) and watched Squid Games. I have been too busy to find a new series since finishing it.

How do you get read of a PETA volunteer on your doorstep? Sic your dog on them.

  6. I vote Psych. That's just me.
I understand you completely; we have the same sense of humor!
We are off to Oregon to visit my Dad, whom I haven't since 2019--thanks COVID--and Carlos hasn't seen since 2018!
    About the glasses: Yes.
    That cat meme ...true.

  9. Unlike the endings of many shows I've liked over the years, Brooklyn 99 ended so well. I felt that the writers not only cared about the fate of the characters, but also cared about us fans.
-loved seeing Doug Judy one final time and loved that Holt and Kevin reunited as well. Orville is a real hoot. I think you'd dig it.

  11. Insanity is under rated! I hope you find a fun show for you and Kyle. Isn't it fun to share things like that with our kids! Enjoy the visit with your Dad. I'm glad to hear he is able to come and I'm sure he is looking forward to seeing you all.

  12. Hope your Dad has a Barry good time! (and you and your family as well)
I don't watch TV anymore, except shows I can see for free on the internet, so I'm absolutely useless as a source of recommendations. I can remember watching a lot of TV with our daughter, though, when she was in the worst stage of her chronic illness as a teenager. It's really a surprisingly good way to bond with your kids. I hope you find a new series to love.
I'm impressed that you got second place in the campaign contest - no wonder, it's a catchy phrase, and says what needs saying, for something that's a very important health reminder. Great job :)

Loved the meme of the doggie with the glove.

  15. I can't really recommend any show to watch since I watch so few. The 'self-checkout' is cute, Biggie is always checking himself out, friends only find it funny the first time they see it. You're Shrek meme is soooooo true.

  16. These memes killed me. I don't have children so I am assuming that everything I watch is not child friendly like Ted Lasso lots of swearing. But it has such great morals and kindness that it's a shame a young person couldn't watch it. I never watched 99 except the 1st episode because I loved Andre Brower and was shocked he'd do a sitcom. But I didn't go past the first one. So maybe I missed something and have to look back. Always looking for something to new to watch.

  22. Love The Office and Scrubs. I'm currently watching Orville. I started it way back when, enjoyed it, but lost track. But now that you have mentioned it and I remembered that it existed, I'm going to pick it back up again.
