Dog Days of Summer

Welcome back

We got a visit from our old pal, Nash.
We have watched him a few times and there's quite the story about the first time he came over.
You can read all about it here but the quick version is that Kyle showed Nash's owner how Ms. Frizzle likes to hump pillows on our couch.
Good times.
I believe Hayden was the most excited to spend time with Nashy.

Adios amigo

My blogging buddy and fellow Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers (RCPM) fan, Jon, has decided to retire his blog and I just wanted to wish him well.
When I first started blogging in 2005, I looked up blogs that listed RCPM as one of their favorite artists on their profile.
I stopped by Jon's blog, he stopped by mine that was featuring "Things that are difficult to say when you are drunk" at the time and we have been hanging out ever since.
A lot has happened during those 16 years and I am glad he was along for the ride.
Take care, JT.

Dumb observations

#1 - Don't take a sleeping pill and laxative on the same night or you might wake up in deep shit, and if you sneeze without a tissue you are taking matters in your own hands.

#2 If you and I had a battle of Wills, who would you choose? I am going with Will Ferrell.

#3 Orange juice goes by OJ but does anyone call apple juice, AJ? Well, we do. I ask the kids if they want OJ or AJ for breakfast. I am living on the edge, folks.

Meme dump

I will try and do better.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

Comments

  1. I still remember that first comment you left on my blog, as it was a few months before I got married. It looks like we're about to celebrate 16 years. It's amazing how we just clicked and how you were one step ahead of where I was in life, with your marriage a little before mine and even you becoming a father before me. It always felt like those nature documentaries where a penguin kicks another one into the water to test things out before diving in. It's definitely not goodbye for us. I'll still be commenting here on yours, always eager to see what you and your family are up to. We're still friends on Facebook too, although I suspect that you're not on there nearly as often as I am. I appreciate the kind words from you on my "retirement". And even if there's not a Peacemakers show involved, we'll need to find a time to meet up. Bonus if Roger and the guys are there too.

  5. I've seen many a blogger quit the blogger race. I always wonder, who's smarter, them or me?

Meatloaf probably wouldn't work for me because I probably would do that.

  6. That Bezos meme seems spot-on.

Kyle giving a pillow humping demo proves he wins the day!

I recently heard that if you take a seat on the toilet at 11:59 PM and stay there until past midnight, it truly is the same shit, different day.
And now, I apologize for that!

So many people have stopped blogging! It's always sad when one blog we've followed closes. Hopefully you'll stay in touch.
    That doggie is adorable.
And I'll make sure I follow your advice about the sleeping pills and the laxative. Yikes!
The meme dump made me cackle.

If not one person told Bezos that his rocket looked like a giant d%*k before launch, he needs to fire his staff and start over.

  13. That space travel one, YES! Very appropriate. I am always sad when bloggers quit. I feel like I lose touch with a friend, even if we've never met. In this case, you had made friends with Jon. It's the beautiful part of blogging. I've picked up several friendships in real life due to it. Even if not, there is a certain closeness that we develop in reading about each other's lives.

  17. It's hard to lose a fellow blogger. But if it's better for that person, it's understandable. Our lives change and what suits us at one time can become a chore at a different time. Wishing Jon the best as he makes this change.

I think Jeff Bezos chose that rocket on purpose. How could that be an accident? lol

  18. I have seen many bloggers come and go in my 17 years of doing this--but it's sad. Some have died, but others you just wonder what happened.

There was another meme I saw recently that said, "What if UFOs are really just billionaires from other planets." Something to consider.

  19. Bezos Penis Rocket speaks volumes about the Guy, doesn't it? I can't Believe he didn't insist it be a giant Phallic Symbol!? *LOL* I've seen a lot of Bloggers come and go in over a Decade of Blogging and I miss a lot of them. At least if they let us know they're leaving we're not in suspense when they just go MIA and we worry what might have happened that would possibly be tragic.
