Mr. Shife's February Frenzy Day 20

Might as well keep the positive vibe train rolling. Here are a few more things that are sparking joy:

  • The Smartless podcast. A friend recommended this one and I made a frowny first when I saw his text message at first because I wasn't sure I wanted to listen to three actors (Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett) ramble on about their Hollywood lives but it is not that at all. In each episode, one of the hosts reveals his mystery guest to the other two and that leads to a lot of organic conversations and hilarious interactions.
  • The games Ms. Frizzle likes to play when we go outside. She has been doing this for a few years but I finally thought about filming it. She likes to stand at the top of the ramp and roll her ball down to me. Then I send it back to her. I am sure it means something in dog psychology but it is just a fun little game we play and it makes us both happy.
  • Blogging every day. I've done other months but this is the first time I had a February Frenzy. I'm pretty happy with most of the content. There have been a few clunkers but, overall, it's going well.
  • It is still the weekend and we got lots of sunshine on a Saturday. It only got up to 40 today but it felt a lot nicer with the sun out. I might have a case of spring fever.
  • Watching "Malcolm in the Middle" with Kyle. I was a little hesitant about watching a TV series about four boys trying to outwit and outsmart their parents as I didn't want Kyle to get inspired but he has loved it and it is fun watching him LOL a lot.

I will try and do better tomorrow.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. You've done an excellent job posting every day and there has been something (or many somethings) of interest in each post. Bravo! I don't think my girls ever watched Malcolm in the Middle. It's an old show, right?

    1. Thank you, Margaret. It looks like Malcom started in 2000.

  2. I love Ms. Frizzle's game. It's kind of like a lazy dogs game of catch, just my style lol! I love your song reminder, especially since an earlier post I read on someone's blog put Rhinestone Cowboy in my head for the day, that was just mean. Yours is MUCH better!

  3. Ms. Frizzle is one smart pooch. It's fetch without all that bothersome chasing of the ball and carrying it back.
We could all learn a little something here.

  4. I know others that blog every day too but I could not do it. It's all I can do to blog once a week - I know, that's really lame. Congratulations to you for putting up a post every day this month!

I love seeing Ms. Frizzle play fetch. You can tell she really enjoys it! I have a cat that plays fetch but not with a ball. I throw a toy mouse and he brings it back. Sometimes he wants to do it all day, over and over and over!

    1. We hit 50 yesterday so the fever is getting a little out of control.

  7. I used to blog everyday, heck sometimes multiple times in a single day too. But that was back when I had unlimited material oozing out of my brain. These days, it feels like trying to sip the last few drops out of the bottom of a glass using a straw. I know it is getting empty but for now, I can still get enough drops through the straw for three posts a week and hope enough ice melts for another week's worth of sips.

  9. Aww, that’s cute that she just lets the ball roll down like that. I’m going to check out that podcast because I adore Jason Bateman.

  10. We had a Cairn terrier whose best game in the world was to tear up the steps after the ball we threw up and carry it down for us to throw up again. We eventually got him a Cairn terrier sister who watched the game one time, then ran up the stairs, caught the ball and pushed it over the edge hard enough to go down. So for the rest of her life, Angus raced up the steps for the ball we threw up, and run back down the stairs when she pushed it over the edge.

    1. I had to look up a Cairn terrier, Joanne. Quite the game for Angus.
