Mr. Shife's February Frenzy Day 19

I feel like I owe you some good news since I did quite a bit of belly aching earlier this week about how busy life was going to get for the next little bit.
Again, I take great pleasure in using embellishment to enhance my stories so please remember that.
But if I did stop and think about the next few weeks, I definitely could get myself worked up and have a nice, little panic attack.
But let's not do that and let's talk about some stuff that has made me happy.

  1. It is Friday and the weekend is here. Yay!
  2. Touchdown! Percy safely lands on Mars. This would normally interest me but it was of even greater interest in seeing how excited Kyle got when he was watching the livestream of the event.
  3. Speaking of my son, thank you to all of you who ordered one of his bookmarks. I really enjoyed seeing the feedback on your blogs and Kyle really liked the cards and notes he got in the mail thanking him for his efforts.
  4. The kids are going back to in-person learning full-time on March 9. It's almost been a year since we started remote learning and they are hanging in there but you can tell the tanks are running empty. Both of them really miss their friends and I am glad they are going to finish the year out in person.
  5. Watching "Letterkenny." It's a Canadian comedy series involving hicks, skids, degens, hockey players and more. And so much weird wonderful slang. It makes me giggle but it is most certainly not for everyone.
  6. And last but certainly not least, Ms. Frizzle. She drives me bonkers some days because she thinks we need to play fetch every 12 minutes but she is such a good girl and I love Lady Labsley (Kyle and Hayden have affectionally called her Labsley lately and I like it). And I think she might love me too. Or she just loves that I try to take her out as much as I can.

I will try and do better tomorrow.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. I watched the Perseverance landing with a friend at work. I still get excited about that stuff and I'm glad Kyle enjoys it. I was about his age when I began to be fascinated by it.

  5. Daughter once bought us a cute little plaque
that read "All you need is love and a Labrador Retriever".
Hope the school reopening is a success!

  6. I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around kids being home from school for a year. Our kids went back in person last August. I'm not sure I could survive a year of them "learning" from home.

  7. Good news! I've never heard of that series. I've been wondering how young people reacted to Percy's landing and am happy to hear of your son's excitement.

  8. I am happy for the weekend, and the return of warmer temperatures! My Romeo is going to wash the car today, he is kind of a freak about it....I only hope I don't have to help :-) Dogs are the best (except when they aren't, haha)!

  9. May you always be as happy as your dog. And hug like Mrs. Frizzle, too.

  10. Sometimes you're the windshield...sometimes you're the bug. The yin and the yang. I have always thought that we savor the good times because of the bad times. From where I sit you seem content with your life.
