Random Acts of Shifeness - Think Pink

  •  I got another reminder of how awesome and amazing 2020 has been...

  • Yes, I got pink eye sometime and somewhere over the past weekend.
It's not painful just annoying as my eye is watering constantly and lot and lots of discharge.

  • You are such a silly ninny muggin, 2020.

  • Probably going to get a case of uncontrollable, explosive diarrhea for that bit of karma but sorry, not sorry, 2020.

  • Besides that, I did enjoy my time off.
How was your Labor Day weekend?

  • Anyone else looking forward to the NFL season starting this week?
I am but Hayden is super excited.
She loves football especially playing QB and her dream is to play in the NFL someday.
    Maybe it could happen.
Who knows what football will look like in 15 years?
This is her below playing ball with her friends.

  • I have been really bad about doing my monthly challenges.
I think my last one was in May and my goal was to play something on the guitar.
Well, I am going to try again with the guitar.
My online lessons guru said to at least practice 5 minutes per day for 2 months.
    I can do that.
    I think.

  • I really need to wrap up today's post with some humor as I feel like I have been in a shit mood for the past few days.
Might have something to do with the pink eye.
Or maybe I need to get a different Reese Witherspoon calendar.

  • How about this?
    Are you not entertained?
It made me chuckle a little and that's saying a lot on a day like today.

  • Here's to the rest of the week getting better.
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. Oh dear, Mr. Shife. You have it bad. Did your doctor or pharmacist tell you what to do? Yes? Well good, you follow their instructions and you'll be OK.

  3. Yep, pink eye and 2020, yep that sounds about right. It's just one thing after another this year for all of us I think.

Anyone looking forward to the NFL season starting? Well, I think my hubby Tom is just about ready to jump out of his skin he is so excited to see our Chiefs first game! I admit I am looking forward to it too. Arrowhead Stadium is just about 20 minutes down the road from us but the very limited tickets are way too pricey this year. That's great that Hayden wants to play football! There are more opportunities for girls in football these days.

I am hoping we can get some common sense throw in at the tail end of 2020 as it seems like we haven't had too much.

  7. pink eye is no fun; had it once when I was a child. 2020 is no bucket of laughs either.
I can see a time when girls will play football.
    I cannot stand reese w.
5 minutes practice/day for 60 days doesn't sound so bad. YOU CAN DO IT!

  8. Oh no!
Pink eye is such a pain! Don't they make eye drops to make it go away?
And I love that your daughter loves football. To tell you the truth, I have never been to a professional football game. I have no desire whatsoever. The only thing I like about football is watching burly men with really wide shoulders wear really tight pants.
And get with the guitar! We need a video of you playing something!

    XOXO

  9. Is Pink Eye related to herpes, or a form of?... My first hint of normalcy is that the US Open tennis tournament is on ESPN. Does that mean light at the end of the tunnel? Meanwhile, still,.. "The birds are singing in Greek," #VirginiaWolf

    1. Probably. I think I will get something like that next month to make sure this year really does suck the most. I am enjoying the tennis as well, Jimmy.

  12. Labor Day weekend felt like most other weekends, tbh. It was pretty toasty out, so we hit the beach on Sat. and that was very nice.

Sucks about the pink-eye. You gotta stop sharing your eyeliner pencil with friends! ;)

  13. I may not be your online guitar guru, but I'm teaching a 10 year old with zero patience how to play and I've got almost 27 years of playing under my belt. Go look up some tablature of some song you want to play and just play. It's how I learned and it's more rewarding to hear yourself play a tune you love instead of scales. As long as you know basic chords, the Peacemakers stuff is easy to play along with. Well, most of it

  14. I wouldn't be surprised if your daughter is a famous football player... why shouldn't she be?

I don't play guitar anymore, I used to. I wasn't ever great at it, just enough to be able to accompany my voice, which was much better than my playing.

Ughhhh. SO sorry about the pinkeye.
I haven't had pinkeye since I was expecting my daughter 27 years ago. It was SO bad. The cure was worse. Apparently I'm allergic to Sulfacetamide.

    hope you're fine soon!
