Back from vacation and this was me yesterday after going back to work:
Hallmark should really think about making sympathy cards after a long time away.
Getting back to work is a little rough after 9 days off but it is all good.
We had a wonderful time and I am looking forward to our next little adventure.
Here's a map of all the places we visited:
The highlights were staying at the Grand Targhee Resort, visiting the Grand Teton National Park and enjoying a little town called Lava Hot Springs.
Below are a few photos from our trip and a link to a photo album if you would like to see more of the Shifleys in action.
And I almost forget to show you what Kyle and Hayden did at Lava Hot Springs:
Kyle jumped off the nearly 33-foot platform and Hayden took the plunge from almost 23 feet.
I might be able to string together more words later this week but I am so tired.
Work can be exhausting.
Take care and thanks for stopping by.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

ReplyDeleteThank you, anne marie in philly. Good to be back.
DeleteLoved the photo album; from my eyes it looks like you've had a great summer. Your wife is prettier than ever, love her shorter hair. And you each have your own mini-me!
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed mini-versions, kden. We did have a wonderful time and I look forward to the next one.
DeleteWhat a wonderful vacation! I enjoyed all your pictures too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Glad you got to check them out, Bonnie.
DeleteOh, Mr. Shifle, that looks like a ton of fun and I love, love, love the landscape! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat water is crystal clear!
And the pic of you guys with the mountains in the back? Lovely.
Glad you had fun. Now, back to the grind.
XOXO
Grinding away, Sixpence, and I am not loving it. Thanks for your kind words.
DeleteFabulous! I just realized I didn’t know where you live? Boise? Looks like a great trip! We did a big trip to that area in 2007. Flew into SLC, stayed one night in Idaho Falls, then went to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Cody, Mt. Rushmore and Badlands. Definitely a trip of a lifetime for our kids that we talk about often. Glad you were able to do a summer vacation!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Bijoux. We are talking about heading to Mt. Rushmore the next time we take some time off.
DeleteGlad you had a good time! The kids are brave!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures.

ReplyDeleteI recommend it, Peg. It did my body and soul good to get away for a bit.
DeleteGorgeous surroundings. And right on that the kids are into jumping off high dives! Looks like good fun was had by all.
ReplyDeleteThey were lovely places, Bea. I am still trying to recover from our adventures. So, so tired this week.
DeleteLooks like you had a great vacation - what a beautiful series of places you visited. My hat is off to the little Shifes for their courage in taking those dives - wow! You and your family look very happy in those shots :)
ReplyDeleteGotta work to pay for the next vacation ... bummer :)
It was a wonderful time, jenny_o. Definitely going to have to work a bit to get ready for the next one.
DeleteWhat a wonderful vacation. What wonderful country! What a heartstopping photo of Kyle, and another of Hayden. I hope you told Mrs. F all about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne. Frizzle was very excited to hear about all of our adventures.
DeleteYou have a good looking family.
ReplyDeleteThe kids are braver than I've ever been... heights are not my friend.
When I was in the 3rd grade, my family went to Wallowa Lake in Oregon. We stayed in a little cabin for a week, rented horses and took a trail ride and played mini golf. I remember so much about that week. It was one of the best times we ever had as a family. :)
Seeing the horses brought it all back to me.
But no jumping from high places!! No!!
Wallowa is awesome. Mrs. Shife and I spent a long weekend there.
DeleteI was at Lava Hot Springs once--loved it. The Tetons are neat mountains, too. Glad you got away!
