Why do I think the way I think?
I wonder if that was something Dr. Seuss considered before settling on his final title:
So let's talk about the thinks that I think because I would love to know if others deal with these thoughts or I am just all by myself on weirdo island.
Where was I?
Oh, yes, writing about the nutjob who spends too much time pondering the ideas that pop into his head and then feels the need to share them on a public platform.
1. I sometimes let the universe decide my fate.
I wasn't feeling 100% percent Tuesday morning.
I thought about calling in sick.
But I wasn't feeling that bad.
I thought I could power through.
I wasn't sure.
I let a $20 digital scale from Amazon determine my fortune.
I stepped on the scale and said to myself if you weigh under 160 then you are going to work.
I went to work.
My weight fluctuates between 158 and 161 so it's not like I wasn't being unrealistic in letting the scale see how my day played out.
2. I turned on a hockey game Tuesday night that featured my favorite team, the St. Louis Blues, and they were playing the Winnipeg Jet.
The Blues were winning 1-0 with about 13 minutes to go in the game.
Less than a minute later, the Winnipeg scored to tie it up and the game would eventually go into overtime.
Winnipeg won the game.
The Blues lost.
I was sad.
And it was my fault.
I cursed my team by turning the game on.
I was unaware of my superpowers until that day.
It's hard to believe but I guess can alter outcomes from 1,654.1 miles away.
How else can you explain it?
If I would have just left the TV off.
3. I have a beard now.
People seem to like it and they have told me so.
Instead of accepting the compliment, I automatically start thinking that there's something wrong with my face and it looks better covered up with facial hair.

Cue the music

Anyone else have thoughts like this?
Maybe I need a better book to read to get my mind right.
This one didn't quite do it.
Bye.
Talk to you soon.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.
Loving seeing a picture of Mrs.S
ReplyDeleteBoth boys have had beards for some time
now. J grew out his hair and had a beard
in high school and earned the nickname
Jesus. :-)
The dog attacking the scale is hilarious!

Keep that beard trimmed, young man, and it will be appreciated. Good color!
ReplyDeleteThe beard looks good! Tony has had a beard the whole time I've known him. He shaved it off once; Faith and I wouldn't talk to him :)
ReplyDeletewonderfull post, this post can make me inspiration about something, thanks for sharing brother ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much incapable of growing a full beard, so if you can do it, go for it. It does look pretty good on you. There are a few days where I let the universe dictate things, but I think that I've taken too many days off lately.
