March Madness 2019 - Shoshone Falls Part 2

My most sincere apologies for not providing more details about the Shifley adventures but it had been a long day and we were just glad to be home.
It was a fun day too.
The kids have been on spring break this week and we have been busy trying to do some stuff.
Our day started yesterday with a trip to The World Center for Birds of Prey.
Hayden had recently taken a school field trip there so she volunteered to be our tour guide.
Unfortunately, she was transformed into a California Condor along with her brother.

The kiddos had a favorite bird and it was a harpy eagle. He or maybe she was very animated with the kids and seemed to put on a show for Kyle and Hayden.

Before things got hawkward (see what I did there) because I kept asking the staff who really was the Lord of the Wings, we headed to visit the mighty Shoshone Falls. It's called the "Niagara of the West" and it's pretty awesome especially in the springtime when the water starts to flow. 

After getting soaked by the cold water at the falls, we wanted to soak in warmer water. We stopped at Miracle Hot Springs, home to Idaho's only alligator. Yes, you read that correctly. There's an alligator pen with a living, breathing semiaquatic reptile. After you're done at the hot springs then you stop by and say hi to the gator. It's hard to see him in the pic below but he's to the left of the rock. 

Then it was on the road again to get back home to Ms. Frizzle. We determined this was longest we have left her unattended (~10 hours) so we sacrificed a decent meal to make sure we were home with enough daylight to play fetch with our favorite yellow dog. We got some "nice" chicken, french fries, hot dogs and fried mozzarella sticks at a gas station deli. Here's a picture of a rainbow that helped distract me when I thought about what the fried mozzarella sticks were going to do to me later.

Frizzle was happy to see us. 

Then we parked our butts on the couch and watched a movie. 

It was a good day.
