Random Acts of Shifeness - Bassetless in Boise

  • It has been a year now since we had to give up Tank. I never thought I would go a year without a basset but Ms. Frizzle is doing her best to distract me. Her latest trick is sleeping like this:

  • And I am probably going to get in trouble with Mrs. Shife for showing off our TV room with piles of folded laundry everywhere. Well, at least it's folded, right?
  • Halloween was a success. Boba Fett and Mulan scored lots of candy and kept the neighborhood safe from the rebel squirrels.

  • Now it's November and we have to move onto bigger things like cleaning up the yard. When you live in a placed called the City of Trees, you are probably going to rake up some leaves.  We also live in a house with two young children who would rather make big leaf piles so they can play in them. But they have also seen Frizzle pee on the big leaf piles and are dealing with a dilemma. What will Kyle and Hayden do? Tune in next for the exciting conclusion of "On the Edge of Innocence: Dealing with Dirty Leaves." I need to quit watching Lifetime movies.

  • I couldn't pick just one so I have two GIFs for you this week:

Well, that's all for this week. Thanks for stopping by. Talk to you soon.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. Glad the neighborhood is safe from thieving squirrels.
We have a new Bird store and they put peanut chips in their
large seed bags. Abby is not pleased.
Kids look adorable, Ms Fizzle looks comfortable.

  2. Where does the time go? I'm glad Ms. Frizzle has brought your family so much joy along with the hijinks.

  3. As you probably saw, we had a Disney princess in the house as well this Halloween. I've discovered it's part of the fun of having a little girl.
We don't have leaves falling in great volumes here yet, but it was nearly 90 degrees here today. That's got to count for something.

  4. Someday you'll look at that beautiful picture of your kids in those leaves and you'll wonder how they grew up so fast.

  5. I like the second GIF. Made me laugh out loud and that's an achievement for any GIF.
As for leaves, I have fewer in my garden since I had the main culprit tree cut down and the neighbour did the same with another that used to shed millions of leaves on my lawn.

  7. I think about Tank often and wonder how he's doing? All of our leaves haven't even fallen, so not raked before we got 4 inches of snow on top. Nellie used to pee in leaf piles too :)
