Random Acts of Shifeness

  • It appears that Tank comes from a long line of meat charmers. Today he was able to use his skills to coerce a piece of steak off the counter, on to the floor, and then into his belly. He evidently planted some mental ninjas into Kyle's head which led to the little man slipping out of his chair and sending the meat on its merry way. It was quite impressive and looks like the force is strong with him.
  • I got a deep tissue massage this week which almost had me in tears. I was unaware that I needed a safe word when I was getting worked over. Holy guacamole I think the masseuse either did not like me or hated men in general.
  • Spent the last few days building Kyle a fort/castle out of all the odd, warped, and mismatched lumber I have accumulated over the years. It definitely will not be featured in Architecture Weekly. I am calling it Fort Ballpark because the cuts, designs, measurements, etc. are all in the ballpark of being somewhat straight and accurate.
  • I started juicing this week. After watching the movie "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead", I was quite motivated to make some dietary changes and bought a juicer to get my fruits and veggies in a liquid form.
  • I also incorporated Naicin into my diet because it is suppose to be a more natural way to deal with anxiety and depression.
  • Saw the movie "30 Minutes or Less" and it is quite funny. Not exactly a chick flick but if you have twisted sense of humor then you might enjoy it.
  • Gave up caffeine for a few days this week. I am still on the fence if I can completely give it up but it is nice to know that it is an option.
Well that is all folks. Have a good weekend and talk to you next week.

  2. Giving up caffeine is the best thing you can do. It's no good for you, at all. Lovely picture of Kyle and his mom. Mrs Shife looks well, hope it's a bit cooler for her now.

Love the blog layout. Where did you get the template from?

Have a great week and keep on with the liquidising.

  3. I don't know about giving up caffeine, man. That's asking a lot. Plus, despite what Valerie says, it has a lot of healthy benefits.

  4. savor the moments building forts! of all the stuff me and the angels did, building forts was probably the most enjoyable. of course i was having the odd beer and every idea the angels had seemed brilliant.

may i suggest different flavored coffee. i'm currently enjoying southern pecan sticky bun coffer. (you may want to put the coffee in a plain container to preserve your masculine image.)

  5. That's nice to know about niacin, I take it for cholesterol. Ever tried GABA? I think it blocks some of the neurotransmitters for anxiety.

    Give up caffeine!!??!

God god man pull yourself together!

    Never give up caffeine!

Oh, sorry, drank a little too much coffee.

  6. I've given up smoking, never liked drinking, and gave just about everything else. But there's no way you'll get me to give up caffeine. It's all I have left.

  7. Good luck on the caffeine thing. I CANNOT do it. I've tried and realize that I can't be productive, happy, or pleasant in its absence.

I've known a few meat charmers in my day. They are my downfall, I'm afraid.

  8. I gave up caffeine a while ago and after the nasty headaches were done I noticed that I don't have any less energy without it. Sadly on vacation last week I had a lot and am now scared that I might have the headaches again if I stop. Good luck!

  9. Niacin - hope you got the kind that doesn't make your face flush. There's also GABA and 5-HTP that are good for anxiety. Or hell, Jack Daniels.

Hey, and you're an awesome Dad for building him a fort. My dad started building one for me when I was a kid, but it never was completed. It was an eye sore and a neighbor had the city send the old man a summons.
