Greetings from the Fat Basset

Yep, that's my boy right there. Anyway, Mrs. Shife and I adopted Quincy six years ago today, and in honor of that awesome fact I am letting the round mound of fur post on my blog.
Captain Furry Pants has seen a lot of stuff during his time on Earth and just wanted to get this message out to all of the dog owners out there.

1. Blaming your farts on me... not funny... not funny at all!

2. Yelling at me for barking ... I'M A FRIGGIN' DOG!

3. Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out. Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

4. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose .... stop it!

5. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons. Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.

6. The slight of hand, fake fetch throw. You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo -- what a proud moment for the top of the food chain.

7. Taking me to the vet for the "big snip", then acting surprised when I freak out every time we go back!

8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests. Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet.

9. Dog sweaters. Hello? Haven't you noticed the fur?

10. How you act disgusted when I lick myself. Look, we both know the truth, you're just jealous.

Comments

  1. Wow, I'm the first commentor! That's an honor.

Actually, #10 also applies to cats. They like to wait till you've got a slew of guests in your living room to lift a leg and go at their crotches. It's a talent.

  3. Aside from the fact that he is obviously personable, your dog looks smarter than some of my co-workers. Is he looking for a job?

  5. Love it.

    Love it.

And please, really, stop with the dressing of the dog. Bows, sweaters, rain boots, whatever. It's scary. Honestly. Scary.

  9. If it wasn't a physical impossibility for most adults to lick themselves, do you think they would?
