Weird Science, anyone?

Kyle and his buddy were locked away in his room yesterday, intensely assembling parts for a custom-built supercomputer. They were piecing together components with surgical focus—either to game at the speed of light or secretly hack into NORAD.
Naturally, as any responsible parent would, I popped my head in to offer guidance.

Anyway, I told Kyle and his buddy I would be super disappointed if I checked on them later and they weren't both wearing bras on their heads.

That reference went over about as well as a fart in a crowded elevator.
Kyle gave me a look that was 10% pity, 90% secondhand embarrassment and 100% "Dad, please leave."

Did they get the reference to the 1985 film about two teen boys who use their home computer to design their ideal woman?
Not even a little.
Did I walk down the hallway giving myself a mental high-five because it was an immaculate reference? Absolutely.
So I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.
