We were deep in an intellectual discussion about The Odyssey movie at work when a co-worker mentioned the film inspired her to dive into Greek mythology. She said she was reading The Song of Achilles.
Naturally, I misheard her, thought she said The Son of Achilles, and immediately chimed in with zero hesitation:
"Oh yeah? What was his name—Quadriceps?"
Absolute silence.
Crickets.
Just a room full of blank stares staring back at me.
Turns out I was the only one who heard "Son," leaving everyone else to wonder why I was shouting out leg anatomy during a literary discussion.
Shife life tip of the day: Make sure the lid is securely snapped down before you shake up your blender bottle. Otherwise, you’ll end up scrubbing chocolate protein off your monitor while trying to get ready for a work meeting.
I got this blast from my past from Facebook: Kyle (probably around 2) always makes shopping at Costco interesting. I was looking for the Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage, and I could not find it. Turns out they were sold out, but Kyle told me that it might be with the dinner sausage. He makes me laugh, and I needed it today.
