Thought of the day

Ooops, I did it again.
I didn't update my blog last week.
But this time the culprit wasn't a virus.
It was much louder and faster, and plays shortstop.
It was Hayden.
We were out of town for her softball tournament last week, so my hands were full of sunscreen and bleacher cushions instead of a keyboard.
But I'm officially back at the Confessions of a Dumb, White Guy blogging headquarters.
And you get a photo dump.

Were you able to guess the theme of the tournament?
And nothing says Hawaii like an old man wearing a flannel and a bunch of leis.
It was 40 degrees on the first morning of the tournament.
Despite the cool temperatures, Hayden's team was on fire, finishing 3rd out of 15 teams.
Not a bad weekend, but I still need about three more days to recover.
And by the time I am feeling fully rejuvenated, we will do it all over again as her next tournament starts this Friday.
But we only have to travel about 20 minutes away this time.
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. It actually sounds like you have to keep moving forward...or risk being run over! Good job Dad.

    1. Thanks, Debby. She does keep me busy - and I complain about it a lot - but I wouldn't change it for anything.

  2. Love girl sports!
I actually snatched a pair of those pants that they are wearing in a Goodwill for a couple bucks.
And love how you got in the spirit of things even tho it was kids chilly!

    XOXO

  5. What a great time! Were you actually in Hawaii or was that just the theme? I loved my daughter's gymnastics days, even though they were costly and involved a lot of time and travel.

  7. Team uniforms have improved since my kids' sporting days. I hope her team does just as well in the next tournament! I can't imagine cold weather at this point.

  9. Once again, I do not miss the softball years. Though truthfully, it was my husband who handled it.

    1. It does have it's moments when I am ready to be done but this is the last week and then we are done until the end of August.
