Thought of the day

For those of you scoring at home ... congrats and behave ... here are some of my stats from last year:

  • My most popular 2025 post: https://www.mrshife.com/2025/07/72525.html
  • The busiest day on my blog was 4/7/25, with 12,051 views.
  • I posted 72 times in 2025.
  • I got the most visitors from Singapore (134,000), followed by the U.S. (131,000).
So what does this mean?
Most likely, I am transitioning from Vacation-Shife back to Non-Vacationing-Shife, and the transition has not gone smoothly.
Everything is fine, but adjusting back to the "normal" schedule is always a little choppy after avoiding reality for a few weeks.
Anyway, I think the big takeaway is that I have gone global with all of the love (most likely bot traffic) I am getting from Singapore.
It reminds me of the line "we're really huge in Europe" from the movie "Singles," said by Matt Dillon's character, Cliff Poncier, a fictional grunge musician for the band, Citizen Dick.

But it is good to know that:

Meme dump

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. Is My Child Stupid... That's hilarious.
Take it easy, hopefully you get used to the new normal.

  2. Of course I had to look up that book. Turns out it's about dyslexia. I've had a couple of days with major traffic on my blog. Probably AI mining my content. Boy, is someone gonna be disappointed.

    1. Agreed. I don't what is missing from their life in Singapore but they are not going to find it at my blog.

  7. Singapore? And over 12,000 views in one day is impressive. The stupid book is fabulous, as is the comment.

  10. OMG I also get some crazy traffic sometimes.
My blog having a warning probably keeps AI away, though....

I would not worry about that kid watching National Geographic. Now, if it were the the Bible....

    XOXO

    1. Nat Geo magazines back in the day were wild for us elementary school boys in the library.

  11. There was really a book entitled "Is Your Child Stupid?" Wowsa. Singapore, eh? Now I'm curious. How does one find out stats for a blog? I've never done it! I remember my 37 years of teaching and transitioning from winter break back to work was the HARDEST. No one is excited.

  12. I really need to start paying attention to blog statistics. Perhaps I'm a hit out there somewhere and just don't know it.

  13. I so get the transition being hard. Even Mondays are hard, every dang week! Once I get to work, it's fine, but the thought of going is just crushing. My thoughts are with you :)

  14. 12K? One week I had about 500 and I was VERY suspicious, haha. My average is 20 :) Coming back to non-vacationing is brutal!
