Thought of the day
The exciting - and I might not know the definition of exciting - conclusion of my canine noir (thanks, Bea) masterpiece...
After one week, I still don't have answers, so the case went cold—colder than yesterday’s coffee left on the counter.
I’d hit a wall, and both mutts knew it.
Ms. Frizzle played it cool, eyes soft but steady, like she’d been through tougher interrogations.
Lucy just drooped there, looking guilty enough to go to the slammer, but with nothing solid to pin on her.

No crumbs, no wrappers, no confession—just two wagging tails and an empty Danish container that told me nothing but heartbreak.
So that’s where it stands.
So that’s where it stands.
The Case of the Missing Danish, unsolved.
Maybe it was a crime of opportunity, maybe a frame job, maybe just hunger and bad timing.
Either way, I’ve done all I can. If the truth’s gonna come out, it’ll take someone tougher than me.
Maybe it’s time to call in the big dog—McGruff.
He’s got a nose for this kind of thing.
Until then, the streets—and the kitchen counters—aren’t safe.

Not while the Danish thief walks free.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.
Oh. So good!
ReplyDeleteCanine Noir, huh? You KNOW they’ll never confirm anything…
And I’ll make sure I prepare an interpretive dance if I ever do a job interview!
XoXo
I'm guessing a feline detective would have solved it.
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about McGruff the Crime Dog! Get his rump on the case!
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say the same thing Ed did. Cats love to get dogs in trouble.
ReplyDeleteOMG that pulp fiction book cover -- PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteIf my dog had eaten a danish I would know immediately because everything that's not his dog food upsets his stomach. You need a pair of pet rats so sniff their breath for the next time this happens. lol
ReplyDeleteSome mysteries aren't meant to be solved! Mari agrees with the HoMEOWner meme. She owns everything in it too.
ReplyDeletehoMEOWner is taking on a whole new meaning now ...
