 Thought of the day

I have been thinking a lot about what I wanted to write this week, as tomorrow is a big day for me.
I wanted to write something eloquent or magnificent, but then I read what I wrote two years ago, and it still sums up everything best.
So here it is:

Today is a day that I never thought would happen.
I couldn't have imagined that I would have the strength or the courage to reach this milestone.
You need to make a decision: one day or day one.
When you realize enough is enough.
I had a drinking problem.
And I needed to change my ways, or my drinking was going to lead to even bigger problems.
I reached out for help and started on a new path.
It has officially been one three years since I quit drinking.
If you're considering a change, this is your sign.
You can do it.
I believe in you.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said it much better than I could:
"What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you."

Meme dump

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

I IS an achievement. It takes a lot of work to stay on the path you have chosen. Especially with so much going on at the same time.

  9. Good for you! The power to change is in all of us, some just choose the easier path. And you know, we never think about dinosaurs getting sick, but they did. Spielberg showed us that in Jurassic Park.

  10. Good for you for giving up drink. Two years ago, I decided that I would normally only have one drink a week, on a Friday night and have stuck to it. But I never was a big drinker anyway, it was a way to make it a celebration. I love the last meme and will have to save it (after all, I lived a decade in Utah).
