Thought of the day
What did you do to celebrate the anniversary of Canadian Confederation, which occurred on July 1, 1867?
And ... Happy early Fourth of July!!
Any big plans for the day commemorating the ratification of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America?
Lucy Appreciation Month
The baby basset turns 3 this month, so I thought, 'Let's celebrate Lou Lou Magoo!'
I thought I would share photos of her modeling, as I mentioned a fashion week in the blog last week.
I will also share how many times the basset had an interaction with someone.
When people meet Lucy in the wild, they usually get a big old smile on their face because she is so stinking cute, and they don't see basset hounds too often.
And she is a very friendly dog that loves to meet people, so when they see how happy she is to see them, they will ask to pet her.
And she is a very friendly dog that loves to meet people, so when they see how happy she is to see them, they will ask to pet her.
So with all that being said, Lucy Lou Magoo Shifley had 18 interactions.
Is that high? Low? I'm not sure, as I've never kept track before.
There is so much disdain in those brown eyes.
Thank you for stopping by, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Lucy seems to be incapable of taking a bad photo.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time but there are a few times when the angle isn't the most flattering to her caboose.
DeleteLucy's a natural! Werk it, Supermodel of the World!
ReplyDeleteShe certainly is, Debra!!
DeleteYou are so right about basset hounds! The orange retailer I work for allows people to bring their dogs into the building and so I get to see many different breeds of dog. Believe me, you can always tell when there's a basset in the building.
ReplyDeleteI might have to try out the orange retailer with Lucy and see how it goes, Dave.
DeleteI was all on board with Mexico.... until I saw who entered the chat. 😂
ReplyDeleteIt's always a pleasure to see Lucy. She's a sweetheart, especially to put up with your shenanigans..
She's a good sport, Kelly!!
DeleteOh. my. Goddess!
ReplyDeleteThat doggie is ADORABLE. No wonder people want to pet her constantly!
And I also learned about the YMC through the -original- Village People.
XOXO
Thanks, Sixpence. I learned of the YMCA through the Village Peeps as well.
DeleteI walked this morning, and met two dogs, and had two interactions. Some of us cannot help ourselves. Lucy has to be a good natured dog. She has to put up with your shenanigans.
ReplyDeleteDespite my shortcomings, she still loves me.
DeleteKELLY!!! Oh my gosh! You owe me a Bud, sistah! That is hilarious. We're twins!
ReplyDeleteTwinnning!!
DeleteLucy looks most unhappy in that baseball cap. But my goodness she's cute. I've never had a basset hound. I had a neighbor who had one who's name was Bart. When he barked/howled it sounded like his name. We got such a kick out of that dog. Friendly like you said. Happy 4th. I'm doing NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, Peg!! And bassets are the best!!
DeleteThe Many Moods Of Lucy!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I will take them all, Bob! She is the best!!
DeleteVillage People, ha! Mari never tries to knock my drink over but she bonks it in affection and then it sometimes falls over. So, I have to watch her. Lucy is such a sweet dog to put up with the props! I don't need to tell you how my cat would react...
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how a cat would react to my antics.
DeleteI am sure that there would be blood shed. And not the cat's.
DeleteLOL I love the pictures. My dog would never let me put glasses on him and he hates anything on his head. Happy 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteTY, MK!
DeleteGreat memes! A person in our old neighborhood had a Basset and I was always excited when he/she was outside!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!
Deletewoo hoo! Lucy is knocking it out of the park! (well, Lucy AND you as her stylist)
ReplyDeleteTY, JO!
DeleteWow, Lucy interacts with people more than I do! We stayed home on the 4th and watched a neighbor put on an illegal fireworks show in the alley. They were kind of cool though.
ReplyDeleteShe makes me interact with way more people than I want to.
DeleteHappy birthday, Lucy. I love basset hounds. I hope you had a good Independence Day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeff.
