Thought of the day

Hello there!!
How are things?
Did you have a nice May Day?
I am not even sure how you are supposed to celebrate.
"Hey, it's May. Yay!!"
How was your Star Wars Day?
I hope you didn't have to look for the force in all of the Alderaan places.
Did you watch the Kentucky Derby?
Ever since our local horse track shut down, I have had zero interest in horse racing.
Anything exciting happen on Cinco de Mayo?
I understand if you don't want to taco about it.
I missed a lot when I signed off in April.
Anyway, it is good to be back.
Here are a few things worth sharing since I have been away:
  • My popular post during my April blogging efforts was on 4/15/25, and the subject was tax day. I have become a bit of a tax influencer, so it makes sense that the Internet would get excited when I shared my thoughts on tax day. Honestly, I have no idea why this post would be the most popular one out of all of my April topics. Maybe my topics sucked so much that people were relieved to see something exciting like taxes.
  • Kyle wrapped up his track season with a PR (5:11) in the 1600. Unfortunately, it was not fast enough to qualify for districts, as you needed to run under 4:50, which seems bonkers to me, but the kids are really fast these days. Now he knows what he has to do to improve, and I have no doubt he will get there.
  • Hayden's softball team is finally starting to look really good. They have had a few rough outings, but they are playing well. They went 5-1 in their most recent tournament and took 3rd place.
  • Kyle starts his summer job this weekend. He will be working at the local water park as a grill cook in one of the food courts. He is excited for the opportunity to make some money and finally be old enough to get hired for a summer job. The job also works well with his summer conditioning program, as he can run in the morning and then go to work around noon.
  • The kids have 10 days left and then...

  • And, finally, Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful ladies out there

Take care, thanks for stopping by, and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  2. I don't understand how we're already so far into May. I don't do Cinco de mayo since accidentally being caught at a Mexican restaurant and unaware of the date. Yikes, loony tunes!

  3. I can never get over those HGTV budgets. That's great that Kyle is starting his first job. As a bonus, I bet it will provide some good blog fodder.

  4. I'm just miles from KY Derby so its a lifestyle here....
I cant believe its summer break... I feel like we just muddled through January.

  5. Last year, we were knee deep in preparations for a graduation party and a coming of age party, two weeks apart. This year I've been puttering around in my garage and enjoying the hours spent daily doing whatever I darn well please. It has been blissful.
