Thought of the day

Happy Sunday!!
It's not my usual day for blog updates, but today is the day this week.
I have been busier than usual at work because we are down 4 people right now, as we had a few people leave for other opportunities.
So their workload is being spread out to the rest of us until we get some new hires.
It is going to suck for another month but we should be fully staffed by then and then I will only busy trying to manage Kyle and Hayden's summer schedule.

Sorry, Planet Fitness, but I am judging.
If you are unaware, Planet Fitness has declared itself a judgment-free zone to create a welcoming and comfortable fitness environment for all.
I am 100 percent down with that, but it would be a lot cooler if I didn't have to step over used condoms in the parking lot.
I think folks might be getting too comfortable in the judgment-free zone.

Since it was rainy and in the 50s yesterday, the weather inspired slug-like behavior, so we went to the movies. Hayden and I like scary movies, so we were interested in seeing Final Destination: Bloodlines, and to our surprise, Mrs. Shife and Kyle agreed to come along. The last time Mrs. Shife saw a scary movie in the theatre was in 2002 when we saw "The Ring," and Kyle is usually not a fan of the genre. There was some gore and squeamish scenes, but they both survived. Final Destination was silly and had enough humor, so it was a good time. And it is always good spending time with Mrs. Shife and the kiddos.

Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. My daughter worked for Planet Fitness for a few months and then quit because it was such a bad place to work. The other day there was a shooting at the Planet Fitness where she used to work. Just crazy. Have a good week.

    1. Our PF is not too shabby but there are some sketchy ones.

  2. I live in a rural area and our house cannot be seen from the road. I have done my share of stepping over used condoms at the end of our driveway. I guess that's more acceptable than a public parking lot, but still...

  4. Marshmallows are very scary in general! (hate them) I've encountered condoms on my walk too, yuck. I hope work goes back to normal soon, even though you'll still be crazy busy with kids' schedules. I remember those days.

  7. I hadn't heard that there was a new Final Destination movie. Perhaps I need to see if my girls might be interested in it. We always had a competition to guess the final manner of death. It was rare that anyone guessed it correctly.

  9. Don't work to hard or there won't be any new hires.

  10. I feel your work-related pain - we've been short-handed for about a decade. More of my co-workers are part-time than full-time. It's hard to get people in our line of work (accounting). Hope your new hires materialize as promised. That muddy dog - that's just . . . something. I wouldn't want to be the one transporting it home in my vehicle!
