 Thought of the day

Holy ibuprofen!!
First softball game of the year yesterday, and I am feeling it today.
I forgot I had some of these muscles.
I just don't bounce back like I used to when I first started playing softball in 1991.
Yes, you read that correctly.
This is my 34th year of playing softball.
I am getting closer and closer to hanging it up, but I am still enjoying it, so at least one more year.

Talk to you tomorrow.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. Sadly, I've had several unemotional support dogs. (thinking of the female Rottweiler we had in particular)

    1. I had one but it turned out he had cancer on his nose and that is why he was so grumpy. Lots of guilt on that one.

  2. Hahaha
Oh, I have special lists on Spotify and because they're so very different it doesn't know what to do with me.
And I read that 'Get a grip, Bonnie' in Danny DeVito's voice...

    Happy Ibuprofen!!!

    XOXO

  4. I've never had Spotify but I do have Apple Music--it doesn't appear to judge my musical taste. LOL

    1. I might have to switch then. Spotify is very judgmental.

  5. I think I would make a perfect unemotional support animal.

  7. Hope you recover quickly - although recovery takes longer as we get older too. Maybe next year you can DIY a training camp just for yourself, with stretches and stuff that will prepare you. I had to do that before I could start taking walks outside this spring. I was afraid I would get a couple of blocks away from the house and not be able to get home. I'm not joking. But 34 years - that's an achievement, for sure!

  8. My last year of playing softball occurred around 25 years ago. I was playing first and stretched out to make a throw out of a runner who dribbled the softball to the short stop. The next thing I knew I was laying in dirt unable to breath and in considerable pain. The runner later told me he had been trying to make his hit a double. Everyone else said he had intentionally kneed me in my ribcage breaking three of my ribs on the left side. It was supposed to be a fun recreational league with nothing for winning except bragging rights at the bar. I decided the world had moved on and I have never played again.

  9. I used to love to play softball, handball, and tennis. But my knees would never these days. lol

  10. I don't play softball, but I do leg workouts and most people fail to understand how squats and lunges can turn going down a staircase in a nearly lethal challenge. Don't worry though, the pain will go away.
