Thought of the day

So, I finally decided to tackle some much-needed yard work today.
First, I tried to adjust the settings on our fertilizer/seed spreader, but I broke it.
The line snapped, and no amount of duct tape was going to fix that one.

Then, four sprinkler heads decided to retire early and stopped working. I had to water the grass, so I set up the oscillating sprinkler, until I attached it to the hose, and it snapped — yep, broke that one too.

Next, I tried another sprinkler, but it was basically a glorified garden gnome at this point — not working. So, I added it to the broken list as well. Our backyard is home to where sprinklers go to die.

Finally, I went inside to make some ice and managed to break the ice cube tray. Apparently,
I’m stronger than I thought... or just really bad at twisting plastic.

At this point, I jokingly told myself, “Maybe I'd better not masturbate tonight.”

Anyway, hope your Easter was less destructive than mine.
Catch you tomorrow.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  3. This reminds me of the kids book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. My Easter was not destructive like yours was, but after cooking a full turkey dinner there are pots and pans and dishes on every surface. I gave up after getting the leftovers in the fridge safely. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully a better, safer, saner one :)

  5. Yes, best to keep your hands off your junk for a while.

That first meme looked so much like The Great Tuxedo and one of his poses that I got a little teary-eyed.

  7. I hope Easter Monday is better... and that dog photo looks about right. You can't pull anything over on them.

  8. Wow, that's a lot of breakage! I'm no good with hoses and always end up with a face full of water. I always like to sprinkle myself also. My equipment works TOO WELL.
