Thought of the day

Earlier this month, I wrote about the mysterious Shifley spoon shortage
The conundrum had me as bewildered as a penguin in a heatwave, but it has been solved.
Turns out, the culprits were none other than my own two bundles of joy, Kyle and Hayden.
Their diabolical scheme?
Stashing spoons under their pillows for a snow day.
Why?
Because apparently, that's how you conjure a snow day.
I guess I missed that lesson in Parenting 101, right after "How to explain the birds and the bees" and "Why your children will always choose the most inconvenient moment to need something."
They also thought it would be a good idea to turn our toilet into a mini-Antarctica by flushing all the ice cubes.
Spoiler alert: Their spooning-and-flushing wizardry didn't work.
But I got some writing material so I got that going for me, which is nice.

Thanks for stopping by, hope the week is treating you well and I will talk to you soon.

Meme dump

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. My kids were told by TEACHERS that wearing their pajamas backwards (or was it inside out?) would bring on a snow day. My kids thought it was stupid and didn’t do it. They were always a cynical bunch 🤣

  3. How bizarre! I've never heard such superstitions. Of course we don't get much snow in my neck of the woods so, it would be pointless anyway. The dog meme is my favorite. I've always wondered what I'm saying to them.

  7. OMG, these memes were so.... bad punish, I had to laugh. And someone should have told them spoons never work, it's the salad forks that do the trick.

  9. I'd never heard of any ways to bring on snow days. At school one of the teachers used to take his class outside for a "snow dance." In my case, I could just look at the sky and say yes or no. I have an eye for it.

  19. Never ran that far before, cracked me up! Kids do like snow days, but I didn't know there were special things to be done to bring them on. I must ask my daughter who's an educator if she's heard the kids talking about stuff like that. You've got me curious.
