Thought of the day
Nothing like coming back from a vacation and getting sick.
This one was a doozy.
10/10.
Do not recommend it.
"Mr. Shife's Chest Cold" is like taking a bus trip with someone who has long needed a bath. It's not merely bad; it's unpleasant in a hostile way. The visuals of the main character are grubby and drab. He has spent most of the week unkempt, grumpy, and sporting rotten breath. The ropes of snot and phlegm have helped create agony throughout the day. Their camaraderie is so strong, their loyalty so unquestioned. When will it end? His cough is an assault on the senses and his voice sounds like he has been gargling gravel while drowning in a swamp of mucus.
Hope you are having a better week.
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.
Meme dump
I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.
Hahahahaha, your Yelp review of your cold is hilarious! The real thing MUCH less so, I'm sure. Feel better soon! Great memes as always and OMG that California Roll!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, Debra.
DeleteOh, man.... I had a hard time diverting my mind to figure out what was eliminated from that California roll.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you've been sick. I hope you're completely over it soon!
Me too.
DeleteNo bueno to your health! I can completely agree with the radio station/grocery store playlists.
ReplyDeleteA big no bueno.
DeleteOh boy, I hope you feel better soon. January already sucks enough! You found awesome memes, though. I’m wondering if it was short for No Cucumber? Disturbing. I crack up when I’m at the grocery store and something like Devo comes on. It’s disconcerting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bijoux.
DeleteGet well soon. You didn't touch those underpants did you?
ReplyDeleteNo I just saw them.
DeleteI think I saw a prequel to your film, though this was called "Bob's Chest Cold: Phlegm Phactory II."
ReplyDeleteI am loathe to say this, but I was walking down the aisle at the grocers last week and actually heard myself say out loud, "Good tune!"
It is a beast. Hope you are feeling better, Bob.
DeleteThis scourge is going around, east to west, up and down. Hope you recover shortly.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. Me too. Thanks, Joanne.
DeleteAwww
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, Mr. Shife!
And I ban barely recognize three of the current top ten songs on the radio, so yes.
XOXO
Sixpence
TY, SP!!
DeleteYour scourge has followed Margaret's Mucus and Misery Filled October where I couldn't shake congestion and ear problems. Hope you are soon well and feeling human!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret!!
DeleteMy hubby and son are returning from a trip to visit family tomorrow. Flying. Which, unless you work in a germ factory the way I do, is the absolute best way to get sicker than hell. Sounds like that's what you did. Hope your family stays healthy and that you're feeling a lot better soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the saying? "Before I worked with kids, I thought I had a good immune system. Turns out I was just really good at avoiding people who cough directly into your eyeballs while telling you a story."
Applies to air travel, if you ask me. Which you did not. But if you had...
I definitely picked up something from flying. Hope your guys didn't pick up anything during their travels.
DeleteI haven't had one of those in years, do not visit Central PA. That last meme's hitting the nail hard, I know, I work in retail.
ReplyDeleteI made a note in my travel to-do list.
DeleteUgh. You describe that so well that I felt myself coughing in sympathy. It is pretty amazing that you're the only one that caught it.
ReplyDeleteKyle got it too now so it has spread.
DeleteI hope you get better soon. Chest colds are no fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeff.
DeleteI don't think I'll be having a California Roll anytime soon, omg. lol
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. I hate getting sick.
TY, MK!!
DeleteAwww feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteTY, JM!!
DeleteWhatever the virus's are that are going round are truly not fun! Hubby and I have been coughing for over a month. Everyone I've talked to says the same thing. Even after the other symptoms go by by, the cough remains. We both had our flu shots, so pretty sure it wasn't the flu; but a respiratory something, I guess. That and a nasty stomach virus is causing people to loose weight, as they can't keep anything down. It seems lots of folks get sick after the holidays, after being around so many people. Same thing with getting sick after a vacation. Hope things improve for you soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy! Hope you are feeling better too!
