Thought of the day

Happy August!!
How did that happen?
I know how it happened conceptually but it doesn't seem possible that it's here like today.
And you know what that means?
Only 145 days until Christmas.
It's also a strange time for me this week as Kyle gets registered for high school and Hayden for jr. high.
Again, it doesn't seem possible but here we are.
I am coping with it by doing hot heavy metal aerial yoga and the Olympics.
Are you watching?
Hayden and I really enjoyed watching the women's rugby matches.
If you haven't seen the highlights, you should check out how the USA won the bronze medal.
Pretty awesome.
Well, it was good catching up with you.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week and I will talk to you soon. Bye.

Meme dump

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. I was not prepared for the Lion King meme! I can definitely relate to the last one...even when I carry a list with me to the store. I'm almost ready for Christmas. Hate me?

    1. The LK meme took me by surprise as well, Kelly.

  2. So, you're a benevolent soul at Petco? Me, too, though at PetSmart. And the Olympics are rocking it! How ingenious of the French to use existing landmarks instead of building crappy little stadiums that will be torn down in a few years. I am in awe that they swam in the Seine!

    1. I am glad they worked smarter on the building usage, Dave. We try to go to Petco because they took Kyle's fish when he was done with them. It made me feel better than dumping them down the toilet.

  3. ANYONE can follow gymnastics or swimming; it makes me happy that you're having so much fun with women's rugby.

  4. I am also loving The Games; it's a nice distraction before we get into election mode!

    1. Yep. I don't know if I am ready to level up to that mode.

  5. I tend to watch the swimming events as they don’t require a big time commitment and the U.S. usually is in the running for a medal. But I did see the rugby win on a highlight reel.

  6. Good grief. I'm not old enough for those children to be in high school and junior high!

  7. "Would you like to round up for the food bank?"
    "No, thank you."
They look at me like I'm a criminal. They have no idea that I give directly, sometimes to a fellow human. Giving at the register means the corporation gets credit for MY donation. Nope.

  8. Loving the Olympics.
I'm partial to men's swimming and gymnastics, but that's just me. These Olympics have been thirstier than any other or is it just me?
And I cackled at the coming back from the supermarket cause it's TRUE.

    XOXO

    1. I think it is just you. Ha! Nope. I agree there are some fine-looking folks representing the world over in France right now. Hayden did wonder why the men beach volleyball players were wearing shirts.

  9. Yes, right after I pick up my grocery order, I remember what I forgot to add to it. I did watch some rugby which was quite exciting although I didn't understand a lot of it. I do get that running a long way with the ball will result in a score though!! How do our children get so old? Mine are 34 and 38.

    1. The other thing I enjoyed about rugby is it is quite short. Only 7 minute halves.

  10. The grocery store meme is just too true :) Can't be bothered to watch the Olympics which I internally think of as me being too lazy not only to exercise myself but too lazy to watch anyone else exercise either :D

    1. It is way too true and happens way too often.

  13. The grocery store meme, cracks me up. I'm sitting here nodding my head in agreement. Kids grow up fast don't they. HS and Jr. High.......wow. I've not been watching the Olympics. Used to enjoy them when I was younger, but somewhere along the way, just lost interest. I know August already, summer is flying by and that doesn't make me happy. That means fall and football which proceeds the winter. I LOVE summer, put up with fall, and really dislike winter.
