 Thought of the day

I took a break from blogging last week as we hosted a graduation party for my nephew.
With 24 folks in town, my social battery was drained so, once they left, I spent a lot of time on the couch recharging.
How was your Memorial Day weekend?
I enjoyed having family in town and it was also great seeing how Lucy did her best to fit in.
I have never, ever had a dog that loves people as much as this dog.
She just wants to be a part of everything that is going on.
And since she is so stinkin' cute, we usually let her get away with it.

And here's a picture of Lucy's family:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are doing well.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  4. I am literally CRYING over that last meme!!!🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious! I like to remind my kids that they were also born in the 1900’s! I also love a Kermit meme and that one doesn’t disappoint.

Looks like a fun party and Lucy’s family rocks!

  5. The 1900s, yes! I am an antique. Wonderful looking family--I can't get over how much your son looks like you and your daughter like your wife. (in my humble opinion) Family get togethers are great when they're happening and also when they're over. :)

  6. Is it just me or does Kermit not have a hand?

  7. I'm from the first half of the 1900s.

  8. Thanks for the photo of the Shifes. I think that was the only one that Lucy didn't photobomb?

  10. I'm betting Lucy is so gregarious because she was socialized by your daughter.

Oh that looks like tons of fun, Mr. Shife!
Bet the doggie gets away with murder. And I can’t believe how big the kids are!
    Love that family photo.

  12. Yayy, partay! Oh wait, I'm not a people person. I've got to hand it to you, I'm going to steal that sock idea and use it every chance I get.

  13. So, Lucy is not only a Social Butterfly, I can see from that first pic that she is also a formidable music critic. Great pics! And, just so you know, frogs have never been known to give good directions.

  14. Lucy even has her own spot at the table! What a big beautiful family; you did a great job with the decorations.

  16. I don't ever think I've seen you not wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Thank goodness Kyle was there to pick up your slack. The sock thing would probably work, but it's summer time and I rarely wear them. I should probably carry one in my pocket just for emergencies.

    1. It crossed my mind, Debby, but it was time for Kyle to carry the family legacy.

  17. Sounds like you needed the down time. And I wonder if the people who have given me wrong directions wonder where I ended up?
