5/15/23

I was extremely happy to see this in my email:

It has been about 2 1/2 months since I felt like I last saw that type of Google Calendar update.
Kyle is done with track.
Hayden is done with softball.
And Mrs. Shife and I are done using Gantt charts, resource leveling, duration compression,
resource-leveling heuristics or strings tied to our fingers to remind us where we need to be depending on the day of the week.
But it was fun and we will miss it because both of the kids had great seasons and the group of parents we hung out with during meets, practices, and games were also great.
We will enjoy this lull in activities but we have to get back after it soon as Lucy starts another round of dog training lessons this week and the kids are done with school next week.

Thanks for stopping by and I might talk to you tomorrow.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  2. Although things are slowing down for us too, I haven't put out the Gantt charts quite yet. There is still nine days left full of teachers who are trying to cram last minute things in. Summer just can't get here soon enough!

    1. Yes and no. It requires some effort to keep them busy during summer especially if all they want is screen time.

  8. When school ends, all the other organized kid sports begin. It just goes on and on, until the last graduation ceremony is over.

    1. It is definitely a lot of repetition.

  9. It's nice to be able to choose which activities to do although it sounds like you enjoy what your children are involved in. That makes the busyness much more fun!

  12. My kids didn't do any extra curricular activities, we just couldn't afford them, also I don't drive so getting them to and from would have been a nightmare. I had a ton of free time, all the time.
