As I am attempting to age gracefully, I find myself taking more and more stuff to help meet that goal.
I am currently taking three prescriptions and then a bunch of supplements.

From left to right, there's creatine (to help maintain my muscle mass), collagen (to keep my skin looking fresh and radiant), some herbs from my acupuncture guy (to help with depression), glucosamine (to help with my achy joints), vitamin D (to help with the immune system), vitamin B (to help with metabolism) and caffeine (to get me motivated to go to the gym).

I feel like it is working.
Here are some before and after photos:

How about you? What are you doing to hang in there?

Take care and I might talk to you tomorrow.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. I’m interested in the vitamin B. Is there a specific issue with your metabolism? I’m on 3 meds for thyroid, osteoporosis and hypertension. I also do a low does vitamin D, fish oil, and magnesium.

    1. My metabolism is just slowing down that is all. I can no longer eat anything I want without repercussions.

  2. I take a multivitamin. Plus I'm on 13 prescription medications for high blood pressure, thyroid disease, depression, diabetes, and side effects from those diseases. I've started eating low carb and that has helped.

  3. Sounds like some of the things I'm taking, too, for the joints and the skin and such.

  4. I do Vitamin D because my body doesn't produce enough of it, and I drink a protein drink of whey, whole milk, and water when I go to the gym.

  5. I'm not going to list everything I take. Too much. It's all prescription or OTC, but prescribed. It costs me about $400 or $500 a month. I need to get to grips with it soon to figure out how to adjust my budget.

  6. The daily supplements I take are Vitamin D, Vitamin C, iron, multivitamin for women over 50, and a fish oil capsule. Yum yum!

  7. I take 5 mg of bisoprolol for my blood pressure, a multi-vitamin, Areds 2 (eye), calcium and sometimes extra Vitamin C. The only one required is the first one. There is so much out there to help but I hate taking a bunch of pills.

  8. I've been taking glucosomine/chondroitin/msm for years. Recently added collagen, B-complex, and D. Whether any of it works, who knows :)

  10. It certainly LOOKS like that regimen is working for you :)
My plan so far consists of berating myself for eating too much chocolate and watching too many YouTube videos. And putting my hair in a tight ponytail to reduce facial wrinkling. To be serious for a moment, I just had bloodwork done to try to get to the bottom of the fatigue I'm having. Wish me luck.
