Well, I guess I did it, Debby.
Once again, Mother Nature showed us that she is the boss.
We had a nice little surprise waiting for us this morning:
For the love of fat bassets, please make it stop.
Hayden summed it up pretty well when she woke up, looked out her window and said, "This is so stupid."
But it will not stick around very long as it is supposed to be sunny and in the low 50s.
I was also reminded of a quote by Martin Short:
"If you have wonderful moments, don't second guess them, just enjoy them."

I had the hardest time following that advice because I felt if I was boasting about something positive then I was going to have something negative come my way to balance it all out.
Thank you, Catholicism.
Eventually, I got fed up with that mindset and started following Marty's advice.
Maybe bragging about the sunshine brought the snow but you can't have a rainbow with a little rain.
Life is all about balance but it is important that you take some time to focus on those positives to remind you about the good things when things aren't going your way.
Hope you are well, thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you tomorrow.
I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

Catholic raising
Just think of it as chunky precipitation.
ReplyDeleteI will and I like that term, Debra.
Deletedang..it's in the 70's here...but I'm like you..you don't brag about the weather here in Texas cause it wll change in the drop of a dime.
ReplyDeleteKeep cool and carry on, YDG.
DeleteGood grief, it IS stupid. I always get so pissed when it snows in May, but what can you do? We are having an 80 degree day today, but I suppose I need to brace for the S word this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the bracing, Bijoux.
DeleteLeft side of the fence. Is that a snow monster coming to get you for complaining?
ReplyDeleteNo worries. I have Lucy and Frizzle to keep me safe, Mike.
DeleteCrikey, Mike's right - there is a THING coming to get you! I don't mind snow this time of year because I know for sure that it won't last. Snow in October or November is another thing. It could be the beginning of a long long winter when it snows in those months.
ReplyDeleteThe weight of the snow on that branch made the tree look super creepy. And, as usual, you have wisdom and perspective that makes it better, jenny_o.
DeleteIt's in the 80's here this week. We hardly ever get snow here but I like it when we do.
ReplyDeleteStay cool, Mary.
DeleteThis too shall pass ... in a few weeks it'll be the heat making y'all crazy!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it, Bob.
DeleteIf I can offer any comfort at all, it would be that after nearly a week of wonderfully warm weather (82 tomorrow), I SAID NOTHING AT ALL TO AGGRAVATE MOTHER NATURE ~~~~NOTHING!~~~~ and we are supposed to get snow on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteAsk Hayden if I can quote her.
Bummer and you have Hayden's permission, Debby.
DeleteWe may have received that much snow all winter! Lots of rain, a little ice, but very little snow and I'm not happy!
ReplyDeleteThere is always next year, Jeff.
DeleteI still get edgy when I think that everything is going SO well. Because quite normally, there is never unmitigated and forever lasting happiness. *Stuff* happens. Like snow.
ReplyDeleteI do too and I am still a work in progress about feeling guilty about being happy.
Delete"I had the hardest time following that advice because I felt if I was boasting about something positive then I was going to have something negative come my way to balance it all out.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Catholicism."
Oh my gosh! That's is exactly the way I think, too! I never realized it was from being raised Catholic! Thanks for the enlightenment!
