Hello December

Hi there, it's Mr. Shife, I am not ashamed to say that I always give 100% at work.
13% on Monday, 22% on Tuesday, 26% on Wednesday, 35% on Thursday, and 4% on Friday.

Hi there, it's Mr. Shife, I am not ashamed to say that I always give 100%  at work.
13% on Monday, 22% on Tuesday, 26% on Wednesday, 35% on Thursday, and 4% on Friday.
I picked up a bug right before Thanksgiving and it has been a doozy.
I am sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fevering, and shivering my way through the week.
After sleeping for about 10 hours, I rewarded myself with a 4-hour nap but I think I am turning the corner.
And that is a good thing because it is the last month of 2022 and I got things to do.
Before I get to that, a very happy December to you and yours.
The Shifleys are pretty busy this month because the big guy is coming to town in about 24 days and we have to get ready for his visit.

What are you looking forward to this holiday season?

November challenge update

The challenge was to clean up something almost every day and I did it.
The big one was cleaning up myself and I am now on month two of no drinking.

December challenge

Keeping all of my dirty socks not turned inside out.
Or is it unturned? Right-side in?
I don't enjoy folding laundry, which is why some of my clothes stay in the dryer for 17 days.
And part of that is because all of my socks have to be turned back to their natural state.
Perhaps even unspoiled if you are into that whole brevity thing.
So I am going to try and throw my socks into the hamper unturned.
I know. Exciting time these days for yours truly.

Lucrizzle update

What am I watching?

This is what I have on my streaming to-do list:

White Lotus - Season 2
Slow Horses - Season 2
The Middle - Season 2
Yellowstone - Season 5
The Amazing Race - Season 34
Mythic Quest - Season 3
And if I didn't mention the trailer for "Cocaine Bear" then I wouldn't be a good blogger.
It looks like fun but it also feels like it has "Snakes on the Plane" vibes when the hype doesn't quite match the finished product.

Meme dump

Thanks for stopping by, hope your week is going well and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. Oh I hope you start feeling better soon. Good job on the drinking.
We always let our dog on the sofa. We are currently dog sitting and I can't let him up here and it's killing me. I have to respect their wishes but I feel it's like Grandma's house - they can do whatever they want and then I send them back. But I'm not doing it. But it's sure hard after I Lucrizzle curled up on the sofa!!

    1. Hi Peg. The reason we have leather furniture is because of the doggos. Easier to clean up than cloth.

  2. The dog's collars are quite nice. I wondered when Ms. Lucy could have one.

    2. Too small is hard to imagine!

    3. I know. She is growing so fast.

  3. Yellowstone has started slow. All the promised action must be still to come… I hope. Did you watch the prequel 1883? Worth watching.

    1. I liked 1883, Ed. I am growing a little weary of Yellowstone but I haven't found any better options.

  4. Sorry about your bug. Seems like everyone in the world is coming down with some sort of snuffly, coughy sort of thing.

It is 'right side to' in this house, but sadly no one actually remembers to do it. I wind up doing it while folding the clean laundry.

I am looking forward to having all my children and all my grandchildren under the same roof. It has been a hundred years (in mom time) since that has happened. We are having family pictures done to commemorate this. I have most of my shopping done, since the big push will be on 'experiences'. Except for the kids, of course, who still get stuff. William's minibike is hidden away until the big day. I think my husband is just as excited about it as William will be when he sees it.

  5. It sucks to be sick over the holidays, especially if you have plans. Congrats to another challenge month in the books.

  6. I hope you feel better soon, Mr. S. Being sick sucks.

Thanks for the doggo pictures and the great memes. That recipe is awesome :D

  7. Hope you're feeling better though the lazy part of me thinks a 10 hour sleep followed by a four hour nap would be luxurious!!
    Loving the Christmas Neckwear!

  8. Congrats on not drinking! OMG! your dogs are adorable and the memes actually made me laugh out loud. I hope you feel better soon...being sick anytime sucks but during the holiday season it really sucks! That's quite a turket dressing recipe. I know a few people I'd like to try it out on (just joking...well...maybe not lol)

    1. Thank you. Mildred. We are really grateful for our doggos. I am so tempted to try out the turkey recipe. It would be awesome to try out over the holidays.

  9. Ooh, I had a milder version of that bug--a bit of congestion but a long lasting and relentless cough. I finally had to resort to Nyquil to sleep at night. Like you, I'm getting better. Not the coughing fits and no sleeping at least. The collars are very festive! I salute you on the drinking. Wish my younger daughter would follow your lead. Sigh.

  11. Stopping the alcohol is a good way to keep those extra pounds off. I am looking forward to a nice long vacation for the holidays.

    1. Unfortunately, I substituted sweets for booze so the pounds haven't come off quite yet, Bathwater, but I am getting there.

  12. Well, don’t those two doggies look all comfy cozy? Two months without alcohol is impressive. I’m questioning how no one in your family used the dryer for 17 days! Ha!

No silly, that's what laundry baskets are for! Buy about 10 to 15 of them and you'll never fold clothes again!

  14. I liked the Pompei. All I wear are white socks, unless I have to dress up, so I don't care if their unturned or not. Dogs and dogs are friends for life. I always tell people, if you can, have 2 dogs. Has Lucy begun to tease yet? She will, to your enjoyment.

  17. Hope you feel better soon and the rest of the family doesn't share it. Sadly between Covid, Flu, and the respiratory virus going round families can't get well because they just keep spreading it between them. The respiratory virus seems to last for quite a while. I think your December sock challenge is a good one and wish you luck with it. I always turn all the socks as I throw them in the washer if they're not correct. Your November no drinking and moving that into 2 months is not for me. I enjoy my cocktails and wine too much. Hubby and I have cocktails nightly before dinner, it's our time to visit. We never have the tv on during cocktail hour.
