Day 3 of my September challenge
Some photos from Kyle's first cross-country meet.
He finished the two-mile course in 17:12.
He finished the two-mile course in 17:12.
He felt good about his race but it was 100 degrees when he ran so that affected his pace.
This was his first race so now he knows what to expect at the next one.
He really enjoys the camaraderie of being on a team.
Mrs. Shife and I are proud of him.
Talk to you tomorrow.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream
The only place I run to in 100-degree heat is the fridge for a beer. Good on Kyle!
ReplyDeleteThankfully it is cooling down for his next meet.
DeleteCongrats to Kyle on his first race! 100 degrees is brutal.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was.
Delete100 degrees--ouch! Good for him though. I'm glad he's enjoying the team spirit.
ReplyDeleteHe is really enjoying it and we are happy for him.
DeleteI feel like a veteran at attending cross country races in the fall and track meets in the spring. In the fall my kit includes a fold up chair I can carry along with a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. In the spring, I change over to a bleacher padded seat and many many layers of coats, gloves and hats to try and keep warm.
ReplyDeleteSounds a lot like me going to softball in the spring and fall.
DeleteWow ! Good for him! I can't imagine running in 100 degree heat!
ReplyDeleteSuper proud of the big guy.
DeleteWow. Well done Kyle. If you see me running, know that something scary is behind me.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debby.
DeleteAnd you should be!
ReplyDeleteAnd 100 degrees, huh? Darn.
XOXO
Thanks, Sixpence.
ReplyDeleteyay for him....very proud..
ReplyDeleteTY, YDG
