Q & A

Does anyone enjoy a game of Monopoly?
Kyle has been on a quest lately to play the board game every day.
Which is difficult because a single game can take up to 17 weeks.
Just not a fan of the game for so many reasons but it is hard to tell Kyle no because I want to do things with him other than things that rhyme with sloppily.
It also reminds me of the joke from Dane Cook about the game.

Who are you?

So besides avoiding Monopoly, what else have I been doing?
Well, thanks for asking.
Anyone else think of author Malcolm Gladwell but picture Malcolm McDowell the actor in your head?
I am not looking for validation.
Just curious.
I am also guilty of taking out my phone to check the time, only to get distracted by it and totally forget what time it is about 29 times a day so I am slowly descending into madness anyway.

What's new with Ms. Frizzle?
Wow. I am really feeling the love today from everyone.
My wonderful yellow lab has a new love.
Meet Zeus.
It was a motorized, interactive toy that would vibrate and bounce around when you pushed a button.
She likes it better when we take out the battery and the human does the interacting by throwing it to her.

Frizz has also picked up photography as a hobby.

Lots of selfies.

Thanks for stopping by, talk to you soon and I hope are you having good week.

I will persevere.
I will keep moving forward.
I will be the stream.

  1. I used to love playing Monopoly! One of the few and far between good memories of my childhood. When my sons became of the age of post Candyland, we introduced them to Monopoly. My eldest always quit before the money was laid out. His brother acted like he was dealing with real money. They ruined the game for me :)
Ms Frizzle is so totally adorable!
Stop and smell the roses. Heh. Rest in Peace Mac Davis.
I've never heard of Malcolm Gladwell, but I'll picture Malcolm McDowell in my head any day of the week for purely prurient reasons.

  2. I'm not a fan of Monopol,y although, as a kid, I played it often with my older brother . . . who would buy up all the properties and then put me into bankruptcy. I wonder if there's any connection there. lol

Love the photos of Ms. Frizzle and her new furry toy. And the failure to click the tongs - ha ha ha! Take care, Mr. S, and have a good week.

  4. My girls and I go on Monopoly streaks. Right now we are in a lull and then for a few days we will play every day. If time is an issue, we play the short version of shuffling the properties and dealing then all out before we start. Since everyone is loaded with cash, it is a housing bonanza and inevitably a couple quick bankruptcies.

    1. We might have to try out the short version.

  5. Monopoly, Life, Chutes and Ladders. . . all games that put parents in hiding! When my girls were his age, we had a particularly unpleasant board game called Mall Madness. Be glad you escaped that version of hell!

  6. Those are great cartoons! Smell the roses, LOL. I've never enjoyed Monopoly and it's NOT because I always lose. It's just way too long for me. I have a short attention span.

  7. P.S. I should clarify that it was electronic and the voice was what sent one to hell.🤣

  9. Haven't played Monopoly is years and then some. As a kid we played it often; but someone was always getting put out by losing quickly. Maybe buy a new game so you at least have some variety? Smell the roses, cracked me up. I use my phone all day long, so relate.

  11. I loved Monopoly! Bud and Sue Seigel and I used to play it for hours when we were kids. Malcom Gladwell? I thought that was a gif of Steve Martin. My dogs have never had a mechanical toy, they prefer theirs to either make farty sounds or squeak.

  12. Never was a fan of Monopoly so never owned it, but have spent many many hours playing Life. We would make up our own rules to make it shorter. We meaning Me. I think it's sweet when a dog has a favorite toy.

  16. I loved Monopoly!!! Played when I was a kid, and when my kids were young, too. Probably 20+ years ago, a friend stayed with us and we were into it for a while. Yes, it is a LONG game, but, we actually sometimes played a short version where the property cards were shuffled and given out.
I've been planning to do a Q&A on my blog because it's getting hard to come up with posts!! I have a question here. Do you go by the rules and just use the Free Parking spot as a place where you're safe from potentially high hotel rentals... OR do you put all the monies in the middle collected from things like luxury tax and pay cards??
    Ms. Frizzle is adorable!

  18. OOh how i dislike Monopoly. Here I thought I was the only one! You're a good day. My father cheated in all our games. As adults we teased him so much about. Anything to get the game over sooner was his logic. As adults he one time said to us, "You all knew?" Hell we were young but not dumb Dad!

  24. When I was a kid, we had a monopoly game that went on for weeks in the summer. One by one, people got tired of playing it. The winner was the person who refused to quit playing.

  25. I liked Monopoly when I was a kid. But we didn't play it by the real rules. We kinda played the way we wanted (if you landed on a spot and bought it, you could automatically build houses/hotels on it). But you are right it lasted for hours. And we often got mad at one another.
