February Foto Frenzy

What I will do for alliteration.
Foto equals photo, right?
Well, it does for the purposes of this blog update.
I got a few pictures or fictures if I want to keep this silly premise going or maybe you would like to say
phuck off, Mr. Shife, we get it. Anyway, here are few that I wanted to share:

Kyle and Hayden enjoyed some snowboarding while Mrs. Shife and I enjoyed lots of sunshine. They had a great time and even went on the chair life by themselves. They would prefer if there was a better way to get to the mountain because of all the switchbacks. They are currently researching helicopter prices.

They had a hard time finding our ski passes because they spelled Shifley like that.
I guess they were doing alright if they were playing Wordle.
And I thought Kyle spelled bad.

Speaking of my future spelling bee champion, I am going to have to hire Indiana Jones to help me decipher Kyle's birthday list that he shared. Besides spelling like his life doesn't depend on it, he's also discovered the wonderful world of abbreviations so PVZ equals Plants vs. Zombies

Ms. Frizzle is always watching.
Always judging.

I need to go to selfie school. I always look like I am about to take a dump.
The background is going to take out a restraining order on me because I ruined the shot.

Our neighbor across the street is Batman or they have a French bulldog that stares out the window waiting for his owners to come. I am still holding out that it is Batman.

Frizzle's butt is what I woke up to on 2/22/22. And no it didn't bring me any luck.

Hayden discovered the street named after her. I saw this street when I was jogging one time before she was born and that is when I knew we were having a girl because Hayden was the girl name we had picked.

Another hot springs adventure with some friends. The pirate and the mermaid were a little sketchy.
I think the pirate makes the same face I do when I take selfies.

Meet Huckleberry, the assistant at the acupuncture office I go to.

Finally, RIP Snowball. Thanks for being a great bunny. We will miss you a lot.

I am better than I was. I will be better than I am.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. You aren't the only one who has struggled with their child's wish list or looks like they are in the middle of taking a dump when in a picture.

  2. Sorry about Snowball. :( Hard to lose a pet. If I had a dollar for every time my name was misspelled, I would be wealthy. All of my names are difficult to get right. Loved your selfies! I think you look quizzical, not constipated.

  3. All fantastic photos! If you have trouble deciphering Kyle's list give me a shout and I'll send it to my youngest. He's in his twenties but they are totally into the same things. Do you and Kyle play Pokemon Go?

    1. Nope but he plays Pokemon with his friends.

  4. I should have kept a list of all the misspellings of my name.

    1. I could share another list of how other people spell it and pronounce it the same way.

  5. Bummer about Snowball!! Looks like a chill pet. That’s a cool story about Hayden and the street. I have a similar story where I stepped on a name tag sticker at the zoo when I was pregnant with my son. Only it had the girl’s name we had picked out, Carrie, with even the correct spelling. I was secretly glad it was wrong!

  6. The list could have been worse. Be thankful he didn't use emoji's.

  7. I'm sorry to hear about Snowball. I am now a great-grandmother to a lop-eared bunny my granddaughter adopted. The snow boarding looks like fun! Did Kyle and Hayden watch any of the snow boarding on during the Olympics?

    1. No Olympic snow boarding watching in our house, Bonnie.

  8. At first I thought the name really wasn't Shifley, but couldn't decipher Fhaifley!
    I like a lurking Frizzle.
I'd take a copter to the mountain, too.
And, again, sorry about Snowball. RIP.

    1. My friend sent me candy for my birthday. She tucked away to receipt and did not notice my last name was missing. She thought it would be OK; all the rest was correct. The package never arrived. We think it's because the contents were listed as candy. I hope no one likes marzipan.

    2. Thanks, Bob. I am not sure how Shifley became Fhaifley but we survived.

    3. That is a bummer, Joanne.

  9. Tell Kyle that Star Wars, The Last Jedi is freaking great! Remember, alliteration allows alarming lucidity for those sincerely interested. And I, too, am so sorry to hear about Snowball. Such a nice name for a bunny.

    1. He already knows, Dave R. It was the first Star Wars film he saw in a theatre.

  10. I could have sworn that was Batman in that window.
And now I want to find a street named after me! How cool is that?
I played PVZ and the damn zombies ate me every time. I need to go to video games school. Your selfies are just fine.

    XOXO

    1. I could use a street named after me too, Sixpence. I guess I better get busy at being more famous.

  11. LOL! Your selfie comment made me laugh! I don't even know how to describe what I look like when I take a selfie, except the best one was with my face half covered with a mask! I'm sorry about Snowball.

  12. It's a running joke in our family that whenever there's a family photo op, Eric can't smile. He does this weird... grimace thing. It's very funny, although he doesn't seem to appreciate it when we can't stop laughing.

Your kids seem to be having a great time on all their adventures. I have a lot of childhood memories, and the things that really stuck with me are all the experiences. The places we went, rather than what we had.

Sorry about your bunny. We decided no more pets a long time ago, but then Lyssa and Mason moved in and brought me a grandkitty. And like all cats, she's kind of a pain in the ass. But she's also sweet and affectionate and I love her. Dammit.

    1. Right, Ami. That is the thing about pets. Despite trying your best to not fall for them, you do and can't imagine life without them.

  13. So sorry about your bunny.
I think the selfie came out great.
The dog in the window does look like Batman. lol

  14. I love all the pictures, and your narration only makes it better. I thought the one item on his list said poke my cards :) So sorry to hear about Snowball.

  15. this post reminded me of how much I miss skiing (we just don't get enough snow here) and soaking in hot springs out west. One of my favorite activities when I lived out west was to backcountry ski or backpack to a non-developed natural hot spring and then soak my bones.

And at least the Fhaifley ticket continued your F theme. Belated happy birthday to Kyle!
