Merry Frizzmas

And the winner is...
Frizzle + Santa = Fanta Claus
I thought Chrizzle (Christmas + Frizzle) was the leader in the clubhouse but after we gave Ms. Frizzle her holiday collar, Kyle came up with Fanta and that sounded just right.
Kyle has a good track record with names as he is the one that came up with Ms. Frizzle when we got her five years ago.
Here's a close up the collar:

And Fanta Claus could barely contain her excitement about her new holiday name:

Bookworm

Who has two thumbs and finally finished a book?

No, not John Cena.
Me.
This guy.
It only took me 6 months.
And it was a whopping 272 pages long.
In English.
That is an average of about 1.5 pages per day.
I know you are super impressed.
I look forward to hearing all about it in the comments.
But I started another book and if things go my way, I might finish it before 2022 starts.

Hmmm

A few things that are keeping me up at night:
  • How can I incorporate that I am higher than giraffe nuts in a conversation without sounding like I am doing drugs?
  • Do cannibals have a hard time making/keeping friends?
  • Rebranding aquariums as liquid zoos
  • Library tagline idea: Let's spread some book cheeks

Meme dump

Hope your week is going well.
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.

I am better than I was. I will be better than I am.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. OMG the legos meme!
Ms Frizzle looks great in her holiday gear and under the tree.
The scariest thing on earth for me is that orange buffoon who was our dictator in charge. I must commend you on that great job you did on your book Mr. Shife.
    I have a pamphlet I think you'd like.

  2. So, what was the book? Not to brag or anything, but I think I've read or listened to 52 books so far this year! I'm sure I'll have a few more between now and when the ball drops on 2021.

  5. I don't understand when clowns got so scary. They used to be at kids' parties and there was the kindly J.P. Patches. What book did you finish? At least you read! So many don't. I like all those names but Fanta Claus does have a nice ring.

  6. I have to keep my Lego under tight control to keep them from plotting against me.

  7. I misconstrued your "finishing a book" to mean you WROTE a book at the rate of 1.5 pages a day and couldn't understand why you thought that was underachieving! Now that I understand what you really meant, my only question is, Did you enjoy it? Because that's what really matters.

I love the name Fanta Claus. I'm terrible at naming people/pets/things but so enjoy others' talents in this area. Kudos to Kyle! Ms Frizzle is looking like a really grown up dog now. Too grown up to get excited by Christmas. Or maybe she's just basking in the glow of the lights and plotting her present-opening strategy.

    1. The second book is coming along at an even slower pace, jenny-o. I think I am in the negative. I wrote 1 chapter about 3 years ago and that is still where I am at.
I did enjoy the book. I just wished I enjoyed reading more.

    2. But you enjoy movies, which is something I wished *I* could enjoy! I always feel left out when people are discussing the latest one. To each his/her own.

    3. Good point, jenny_o. Thank you.

  8. Oh, Mr Shife! There is a strong family resemblance with the collar.
Sadly,...I cannot focus on an entire book. A paragraph or two on a blog is the best I can do.

    And,..."Hmm"....Nuts!

  10. I love the fax meme. Ok, I read about a book a week. I’m not sure I could even follow a book if I’m only reading about a page per day. I’d forget who the characters are and what had already happened.

  11. I'm certain that Legos one is true.
I generally read one or two books at the same time so it may take me a minute to get through them.
Fanta Claus looks festive and then sleepy?
Lastly, I work with Susan and that meme is real.

  13. Ohhh love the Fanta Claus name!
And you know that doggies need down time to be able to tear the house apart later, no?
And reading a book is good, no matter if one does 1.5 pages per day or 100. There. I said it.

    XOXO

  14. I like Fanta, however, you might know that in this area there is a soft drink company called Fanta. Congrats on reading the book! And I loved the fax. This might surprise you, but the large orange retailer I work for still requires certain HR paperwork to be faxed.

  15. It really does surprise me that you don't like reading books. However, your book has caused me to add another to my own reading list. I have a friend who raises buffalo here. They are an interesting critter, that's for sure.
