The Pain Game

First there was plantar fasciitis.
Now I have a pinched nerve in my neck.
Since things come in threes, what will be my next ailment that starts with P?
I sure hope it is not phthiriasis
I got a really agonizing headache to go along with some amazing neck pain from the pinched nerve.
The doctor put me some on medicine that helped alleviate the discomfort and I have some physical therapy scheduled to hopefully help with the problem.

Spooky season

I can't believe it will be Halloween on Sunday.
But Ms. Frizzle is ready.

And it didn't take her long to bond with my dad.

Too soon

I have never felt more like a parent than starting Christmas shopping in October.
We think we are going to get Kyle and Hayden a new gaming system and I don't want to find out in November that it will not get here in time.
And both of them we are already searching Google for Black Friday deals to let us know about any deals.
I do miss the days when I could cruise around the toy store with them in the cart and get their gifts in front of them and they had no idea what I was doing.
Now they ask Alexa what me or Mrs. Shife ordered from Amazon.
I shouldn't be surprised because I was a big-time snooper when I was their age so I guess karma is coming back to show me who is boss.

Big game

Hayden and her team play for the championship tomorrow.
So if you are in the Boise area, swing on by Expo Idaho and cheer her on.
Speaking of my lovely daughter, we have a bet on the football game tonight.
She's a Packers fan and I am not.
If the Packers win, she gets to paint my fingernails and I have to wear them through the weekend.
If the Cardinals win, then she can't watch YouTube for a week.

Meme dump

Hope your week is going well.
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.

I am better than I was. I will be better than I am.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. That chewing gum one made me giggle! I had a neck issue for a couple weeks and it was miserable. I don't know what it was; I called it a tweak but it was more than that. (probably a pulled muscle of some sort)Hope yours improves soon. Who knew how much we use our neck?

  2. So, Ms Frizzle has her own pumkin? I'm always amazed at how dogs can pick people to love and cuddle.
I've had that lice and there is a topical for it at the drug store. Always keep some on hand! You never know.
And I love the chewing gum.lolol

  3. My goodness! Asking Alexa what you bought is just plain low. They should have a way to stop that! I don't shop much at Christmas, but I have even been thinking about starting.

  4. Great memes, as always. Yes! I loved pushing my kids around Toys R Us, while buying their gifts. Easy and fun! Toy shopping online is just not the same. I was a big snooper, too :)

  5. Sorry to hear of your pains. I have Osteoarthritis in my knees and hips and am always in pain so I understand what a bummer that can be.

I started Christmas shopping in March. LOL I see things go on sale online and just nab them and put them away for later.

Oh, I've had the heel pain, the nerve pain, herniated discs, hurty knees, a hip that yells at me all the time, etc. So I understand, and sure do hope you feel better real soon.
Aw, Ms. Frizzle bonding with your dad, sweet.

  7. Shindig... I like that. I have an xbox series S, they're probably the easiest of the next generation gaming consoles to get. Watch out, there are a lot of scalpers out there on Amazon, and Walmart, etc. What you have in your neck, I have in my lower back, only worse. I'd rather have it where it is than in my neck, then I think I might whine a lot. Enjoy PT!

  10. I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I've had whiplash and can sympathize with the neck pain. Did they give you a muscle relaxant? That helped me and I slept better too. I love the picture of your Dad with Ms. Frizzle. Your jack-o-lanterns look great and Ms. Frizzle looks like she is waiting for The Great Pumpkin to arrive! Feel better!

  11. Oh, Mr. Shife!
Sorry about the pain! But physical therapy usually helps a lot (well, that and drugs). And I can't believe you are already thinking about xmas. Well, I can. Having children does that to you (that and Karma, natch).
    Mrs. Frizzle is literally me.

  13. Neck pain is awful! Use heat/cold, or just follow your doctor's instructions :D I often have this problem because of my job, and haven't been able to use my headset for almost 2 years (they don't work with masks, which I am required to wear).

  17. I feel your pain. I have left eye muscles (insert long diagnosis) that flared up for some reason a couple days ago. Who knew they could become inflamed and cause such great discomfort.

We haven't connected Alexis to Amazon yet. I've been too worried about ordering something by mistake much less snooping kids.

I hope we get to see a picture of your painted nails.

  18. Hey there. Been a while. So sorry to hear of your recent pains, and I can surely relate. Hope the therapy helps some. That married mummy meme is my wife and I to a T! I miss your meme dumps. It is kind of sad the way the whole Christmas shopping thing changes when the kids get older. Seems like time also flies by faster as they grow, too. Stay well, warm and safe, and Happy Halloween, Mr. Shife.

  19. So sorry to hear of all the pain you're having, Mr. S. Pain sucks. And anything in or close to the head seems to be worse; it feels like it's harder to get away from it, somehow. I had a pinched nerve in one shoulder a long time ago. It radiated down into my elbow. I wanted to cut my whole arm right off, seriously. PT can do wonders and I hope you get some relief through that.

From the comments it sounds like your daughter might have won that bet . . . will we see photographic evidence? lol
