Happy last day of summer.
Or Merry Autumn Eve.
Do you have a good summer?
Mine was OK.
It would have been cooler if I got invited to our local My Little Pony Motorcycle Club but I guess some dreams aren't meant to happen.
Seriously, we had a few good trips and made some awesome memories.
I could have done without the month of triple digit weather, the smoky air and more COVID.
Maybe the fall will be better?
Happiness
I am happily domesticated.
I have been for a long time but I don't think it dawned on me until recently.
I really enjoy being at home with Mrs. Shife, Kyle, Hayden and Ms. Frizzle.
Or if we do go out and do something, I would rather do it with them.
Does this mean I am becoming an adult?
Damn it.
Why didn't you guys warn me about this?
Happiness #2
Happy anniversary to my better half, Mrs. Shife.
We will be celebrating #17 this week.
She is awesome and I am a lucky guy.
Probably a big reason why I like being happily domesticated.
Crushed
Hayden with help of Kyle made a video for me to share with my blogging buddies.
What do you think?
Can you tell where Kyle helped out?
Best practices
And here's a life tip, if you really want to mess with someone and drive them crazy, change the language settings on Spelling & Grammar in Word.Mine somehow how got changed to Italian so every word I typed had a big red underline.
Meme dump
I am better than I was. I will be better than I am.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.
Sound effects by Kyle?
ReplyDeleteThis is true. At work, when associates don't sign out when they leave one of our many computers, I will change their language settings to either Spanish or French. I do find it amusing.
You are correct, Dave R. And I think you would be an awesome coworker.
DeleteHappy Anniversary! I'll be happy when Summer (hurricane season) will be over. Convertable weather!
ReplyDeleteMrs Shife is very lucky!
Thanks, Jimmy. Enjoy the convertible.
DeleteOne year I was tutoring in the school district main
ReplyDeletebuilding and the $&*# computer was set to
some crazy language. And nobody could fix it.
Enjoy Fall and Happy Anniversary!!
xoxo :-)
TY, AK!
DeleteSeventeen years! That's wonderful and many more!
ReplyDeleteAppreciate it, Joanne.
DeleteWell, Happy Anniversary to you and the Missus, and cheers to many more.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have that I'd-rather-be-at-home-or-anywhere-with-Carlos thing. It is kind od adulting, I guess, and, for me, better late than never!
Kyle's sound effects were spot on!
Thank you, Bob.
DeleteI have accidentally changed my own Facebook to Portuguese. Luckily, I can understand French and Spanish enough to put it back the way it was. I feel the way you do about summer-lots of wonderful memories, but those temperatures, ugh. And Covid, YUCK. We didn't battle the smoke like we have the summers prior to this. Happy 17th Anniversary! Hope you get a chance to enjoy yourselves.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret. I think we are going mattress shopping on our big day. Pretty exciting, huh?
DeleteHappy Anniversary to both you and Mrs. Shife! Before I retired I once had someone turn the screen on my monitor upside down. I enjoyed Hayden and Kyle's video! Thank them for me. ; )
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bonnie. I will let the kiddos know.
DeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary!
And summer was ok. It kind of went too fast, I think. But I like summer overall, so I'm biased.
Heh. Becoming and adult.
XOXO
Thanks, Sixpence. Adulting is hard.
DeleteIf I ever ended up in a public bathroom making skin contact with the floor, I'm not sure enough disinfectant in the world exists....
ReplyDeleteI am with you on that one, Ed.
DeletePhoto of the year is definitely photoshopped. Unless dogs have learned to walk on water. Dog... god... HEY!
ReplyDeleteI thing you are onto something, Mike.
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your Mrs.! I also think it's wonderful that you are content just spending time with your immediate family. It would seem to show that you have got a good thing going!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bea.
DeleteMy Little Pony Motorcycle Club! Bahahaha! I remember when my son told me about Bronies. Lol! I managed to change some setting on my TV to where a creepy woman’s robotic voice would verbally narrate my actions on my Roku. Took me weeks to get rid of it.
ReplyDeleteBronies are quite frightening.
DeleteI don't see the benefit of growing up.
ReplyDeleteMe either.
DeleteHappy Anniversary! And what, we were supposed to Grow Up at some point?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bohemian.
DeleteI like being a grown-up. I can make my own decisions. Right after I get out of work, and make supper, and clean up the kitchen, and...
ReplyDeleteNailed it.
DeleteHappy anniversary. That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary.
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you two; may you have many more happy years together!
ReplyDeleteThat video's a complete story in, what, three seconds? That has to be some kind of record :)
They can be very efficient when they need to be, jenny_o. And thank you.
DeleteHappy anniversary to you both! Summer was just ok, but we were busy with dogs so that's good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, kden. Doggos definitely helped make the summer more tolerable.
DeleteHappy anniversary! Love that first meme! Fall has arrived here and the weather is definitely cooler (it dropped 20 degrees the first day of fall).

Thanks, Jeff. We are getting cooler as well.
DeleteSuper blog
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rajani.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and cheers to you also.
