Let's Go To The Movies

Movie magic

It has been awhile but Kyle and I went back to the movies.
We saw "Black Widow."
And it was fun.
Good to be back at the theatre {spoken in fancy British accent}.
Even better to be back with my movie buddy.

We tried to figure out the last time we went to the movies and we landed on "Rise of Skywalker," which feels like a lifetime ago but it came out at the end of 2019.

Stella

Ms. Frizzle is no longer the only yellow lab on the block.
Some neighbors of ours got a puppy named Stella.
And she is pretty cute.
Frizzy heads down to her yard every morning to say hello.

I have been taking my temperature every time we come back home to make sure I don't have puppy fever. No spikes in temperature... yet.

Wool sock advisory

It's still hot in case you were wondering.

How hot?
Well, I am glad you asked.
Check this out:

One of our bikes was parked by an outdoor storage unit in our backyard and got a fancy, new paint job because a spray paint can exploded.
So it is exploding spray paint can hot here.

More dumb observations

#1: I was watching a rerun of the hot dog eating challenge at the gym recently and all I could think of was how horrifying their first trip to the bathroom must be and even more horrifying if it is a public bathroom.

#2: Is it possible to stand backwards on stairs?

Meme dump

I will try and do better.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  2. Lol on that IKEA cake! That hot dog challenge disturbs me every July 4th, but hubby keeps watching it. Exploding paint in heat is a new one to me. How are your bike and car tires?I know extreme change in temps affect them (we have that issue going the other direction in temps).

    1. Car tires seem to be doing OK and we haven't taken the bikes because it's too hot.

  3. Awesome that you guys got to go back to the movies. Faith is fostering 2 kittens and I'm having a hard time holding Tony back from keeping them. You could put some canvases next to more paint cans, then call it fancy art and sell it for a lot of $$$$.

  4. I think the last time I was in a movie theater was 'Rise of Skywalker' as well. It's been a long time for me too apparently. I do want to see Black Widow, but despite all of the good things I've heard, I'll wait until it's free on Disney+

  5. So glad you and Kyle were able to go see the movie. That's a long time to go without a movie for a little guy especially. Sorry it's still so hot there, especially exploding spray paint can hot! I hope it starts to cool down a bit soon. The Ikea cake is so perfect lol!

  6. Oh, man, yes - watch out for that puppy fever ... it's far too easy to catch that.
Exploding paint can hot - good thing there were no people there at the moment. Wow.
That first meme is spot on. I try hard to go with a list and stick to it, but sometimes the stuff just jumps in the cart. Have a good week, Mr. S and family.

  10. Wow - exploding paint can hot is really hot! How did you two like "Black Widow"? We have not been to the movies since before the pandemic started but we will be going to see "Black Widow" in the next week or so.

  11. Ohhh yay for movies!
I have yet to go to a movie theater. Really. Haven't been in one since last year's. In January? So it's been more than a year. I don't even remember what was the last movie we saw in a theater...
The exploding paint can heat IS memorable and I love the Target meme. No lies detected.

  12. It's been so long since I have also been to the movies, not that I was a movie going kinda person. But when it was shut down during the pandemic, I suddenly wanted to go. But I wanted to go because I wanted the popcorn, not to watch a movie. I'm babbling.

  13. I'm pretty sure the last movie I saw in the theater was the Rise of Skywalker. Before that, I'm pretty sure it was The Last Jedi and before that The Force Awakens. I think you can probably see the trend going on there.

  14. I haven't been to a movie theatre since A Star Is Born. Whew long ago. I love the IKEA meme. But you must explain to me why you hated the Morning Show.

    1. I am at the point now where it is hard to stay awake in the movie theatre. Comfy chairs, darkness and I am out.

  17. I figured the heat wave would be over by now. My grandmother owner a small store when I was young. We would call it a party store these days. Back then soda came in glass bottles. I remember during the hottest days of summer we would have to refrain from making loud noises. Because an unrefrigerated bottles of pop would occasionally burst. Does anyone else remember something like that?

  18. I haven't been to the movies in years. I used to take my daughter when she was younger but I don't have patience for idiots and got kicked out one time for yelling at teenagers who wouldn't stop kicking the back of my seat. lol

  20. Wow that sounds hot. Here in the UK we have had 2 days of sun, and hopefully tomorrow will be hot too, and that will probably be it for this years summer. Sigh.

Don't think I'm quite ready to sit in a cinema yet, but we certainly have been eating out a lot recently.
