Mr. Shife's February Frenzy Day 10

I took Friday off and Monday is a holiday so it is a 4-day weekend for yours truly.
I am really looking forward to it.
Mostly because I have felt a little off and need to get my mind right.

Example 1: I need frozen bananas for a smoothie recipe.
I put the bananas in the freezer.
I didn't peel the bananas before I put them in the freezer.
It is really hard peeling a frozen banana.

Example 2: I called our dentist yesterday to reschedule Kyle and Hayden's appointment.
I thought their appointment was today and I didn't want them to miss one of their in-person school days. Their appointment is tomorrow.
When my mind was right, I knew it would be a good idea to schedule their dentist appointment on one of their virtual days.

Example 3: I bought a 30 pound of cat food.
I don't own a cat.
For some reason, I thought the bag of food that had a picture of a mountain lion was for dogs.
Because, you know, mountain lions are basically the dogs of the cat world so I am sure it is a mistake that people make all of the time.

I will try and do better tomorrow.

I will persevere. I will keep be the stream. I will keep moving forward.

  1. It looks like you bought Mountain Lion Food. You can always add one to your family pets. You might keep the rabbits away from the kitty though.

  3. Honestly, who would know what that bag of food was for? Feline Recipe is written very small at the bottom. The bananas is an easy mistake if you don’t think it through. It took me a year to realize it’s easier if you cut the banana into pieces BEFORE freezing! Then you doing destroy your blenders! I hope you enjoy your long weekend.

  4. Carlos put bananas in the freezer to save for banana pancakes without peeling them first. Such a mess. But when i suggested he take them out of the freezer the night before and then peeling them would be easy, he looked at me as if I was speaking Russian.
As for your "dog" food purchase, I will simply say what we here in the South say to folks that do things like that: "Bless your heart."

  8. Being retired I have trouble keeping track of what day of the week it is which has caused some issues. Looking at my calendar doesn't help if I'm not aware of the day! Taste of the Wild is great quality food, although expensive. I used to buy it for my cat, but I can only get it at a feed store. The cat has had to make do with grocery store food for the past few years.

You can take the mistakenly bought cat food back to the store. Or you might donate it to your local animal shelter. A reader in Philadelphia

  10. That pet food is to nourish and fatten up your cat for when the big cats come down from the hills!

  12. You enjoy every minute of your four day weekend. Those were the days!
I am very impressed with my bookmark. Kyle not only noticed that "Got Milk?" moustache, he saw the cat has green eyes and magnificent whiskers. Send my thanks along, Dad.
