Today was a shit day.
It mostly stemmed from the work I had to do for my place of employment.
I spent most of my day working in spreadsheet hell trying to connect data hubs.
And why, yes, it is as exciting as it sounds.
We are bringing some vendor work in-house and I get the pleasure of trying to recreate all of their reports.
So much fun.
Almost as much fun as trying to understand what the heck was going on with Game Stop stock last week.
Suffice to say, I was a lot grumpy and took a Xanax to help take the edge off.
I think it has been about 4 years since I have taken one but I thought it was a good idea especially after I yelled at Ms. Frizzle.
She didn't deserve that and I can do better.
The Xanax helped and I even LAL (laughed a little) when I saw this meme:

I might have LOL but when you feel like you drank a rageahol smoothie and getting gravy pants might be the highlight of your Wednesday, you take what you can get in the happiness department.
How was your day?
I will try and do better tomorrow.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.
ew, your job doesn't sound like fun at all. :(
ReplyDeletegin & tonic always calms me down.
I actually really, really like my job. I just have to do some shitty stuff right now as we are replacing a vendor and I am the only one that knows how to do it. Job security I guess.
DeleteOh that work does sound tedious and boring. I hope there are not too many reports to recreate. Well, there's only two more days until the weekend! I hope you can get away from it all then. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSpreadsheet fun! Did you link sheets 2, 5, and 7 so that when you change a number on one of them, sheet 10 updates then updates the main page? Wow, some guys know how to have all the fun.
ReplyDeleteI am living the dream, Mike.
DeleteConnecting Data Hubs not only doesn't sound exciting, I don't even know what the Hell is means? Whoosh, right over my Head and I'm glad, I don't think I want so much Fun it would require a Xanax to get thru it. Sometimes I've just had enough Fun. If gravy pants is what I think it is... I won't Google it... and I'm not sure I've enjoyed a rageahol smoothie. But this Week had enough shit to endure that I might just need one???
ReplyDeleteHope your week has improved, Bohemian, and you don't want to Google gravy pants.
DeleteI don’t even know what connecting data hubs means! Hope the rest of the week is better. Lol on the eye of the tiger. I always hated that song.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bijoux.
DeleteHang in there--spreadsheets sound like hell to me. I had a great day, yesterday, with a nice 3.5 mile walk late in the day as I explored a new path. It was chilly but made even colder when with a strong wind.

They are, Jeff. You are not missing out. Glad you are doing well in your new place.
DeleteI spent most of yesterday worrying about today which is never a great day. Big storm moving in and major school fundraiser is taking place that I volunteered for since I am post Covid. As I right this, rain is switching to ice with snow to follow, kids are getting out early so I have to drive down the gullet of the storm to retrieve them, take them home and then retrace my steps to spend the rest of the day getting ready for the fundraiser. I don't have Xanax but I do have scotch and will probably end the day when everyone is back home with a double on ice.
ReplyDeleteHope it all turned out well, Ed. A scotch sounds nice.
DeleteThe word spreadsheet means hell in my world. I struggle because I think it is like math. Excel is used here daily but that still doesn't mean I like it or understand some of the shit I do. In other news....I have never had a Xanax in my life. i don't know what it does. Like my glass of wine after work I suppose, that makes my shoulders leave my ears and relax and by the 2nd glass I will not kill the people I have to work with. Is it like that?😊 I hope your Thursday is far better for you!
ReplyDeleteI kinda dozed off, sans Xanax, at the mention of spreadsheets and data hubs.
ReplyDeleteAnd I awoke to Eye of the Tiger playing on a loop in my head!
You're welcome?
DeleteHope you and Ms Frizzle have a better day!
ReplyDeleteI follow Youngest computer biz online and
I have NO idea what they are posting about.
xoxo :-)
We did, AK. Thank you.
DeleteI would not hesitate to say that spread sheets are my nightmare. Good luck, heads up!
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty horrible, IACW. Thank you for the luck.
DeleteSpreadsheets is what I do on those days when I just have to change my bed linens. Hub, is the big (well, average) bald man who lives with me. I don't know what you're talking about. I'm going to be humming "Eye of the Tiger" all day, and laughing over that meme. Hugs, and thanks for the chuckles.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh, Deedles. Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed that meme. It is one of my new favorites. Take care.
DeleteNot fun, and I'm happy to be retired, although that brings its own stresses. I will go to my deathbed never having dealt with a spreadsheet and rejoice in that.
ReplyDeleteYou should rejoice, Margaret. Spreadsheets suck.
DeleteSounds dreadful. Gravy pants scares me! Hope today is much better.
ReplyDeleteThanks, silly rabbit. It was.
DeleteTomorrow will be much better. Get a good night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteIt was. Thank you.
DeleteMy day was not quite as exciting as yours, but I probably enjoyed it more.
ReplyDeleteI hope so. I am glad today was a new day.
DeleteOh, work.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we all have those days. Hope those spreadsheets ended up behaving.
XOXO
We have signed a peace treaty, Sixpence.
DeleteNot sure who Ms Frizzle is but if she is anything like Mrs Frazzle who sometimes puts in an appearance at my house, she will yell right back.
ReplyDeleteThe Frizz is obedient so no talking back but it still hurts my heart when I do that to her because she is such a good dog.
