Mr. Shife's February Frenzy Day 27

They're back.
The Girl Scouts.
I have spotted them at the entrance/exit of several stores today and now I need to plot my entrance/exit without being spotted like I am James Bond or something.
It's like they can smell the vulnerability on me.
I know if we lock eyes I am doomed because the guilt of not buying anything from them will haunt me.
Wish me luck.

A bunch of randomness so... you're welcome?
  • The FBI called Ted Kaczynski "The Unabomber" because his early mail bombs were sent to universities (UN) and airlines (A).
  • Would you do this? Something called 'Deep Nostalgia' can turn old photos into moving videos. It looks cool and creepy at the same time. I am not sure how I feel about it.
  • Does anyone have an elliptical, rowing, treadmill or cycling machine at home? Running is starting to get a little tough on my joints and I was looking at some possible alternatives to help me age a little more gracefully.
  • Has anyone watched "WandaVision"? Based on the trailers I watched, it just didn't look that appealing but I have been wrong before.
  • Is anyone excited about the "Coming to America" sequel? I am not.
  • I really wish I could figure out what my spam is trying to tell me:

Memes:

I will try and do better tomorrow.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. spouse has used an exercise bike for years. I was a gym member for 8 years until COVID hit; my gym has now gone outta business. I really liked lifting weights.

and I hear ya about the grocery store. I wanna go in, get my shit, and get out. I don't have time to run all over looking for the items I need.

    1. I turn into a 5-year-old throwing a tantrum when I go into Costco and they rearranged. Buttholes.

  2. When anyone standing in front of stores, including girl scouts, try to sell me something or ask for donations, I ask if they take debit cards. It's all I carry and I'm not even lying. That Deep Nostalgia stuff is one of the creepiest things I've seen lately, no way in hell! I can't run anymore either, bad knees. I just walk briskly these days, I do try to do it without looking like one of those weird fast walkers though lol.

    1. I think my running days are numbered so that is why I was asking.

  3. I will not be seeing the sequel to a seventy-five year old film; yes, I KNOW it's not really seventy-fives years but it feels like it.

I hate it when the Girl Scouts cover BOTH entrances to the store. No escape!

    1. Me either. Glad I am not the only one that feels that way. The Girl Scouts know what they are doing.

  4. The meme is correct about the grocery store. It's called a "reset" and I hate them.

  5. It's like it's your American responsibility to buy GS cookies. But then, it's the grocery owners responsibility not to reset the store. If they can do it, so can you. Remember, chin high, firm steps.

  6. Do you mean to say you can resist GS Thin Mint Cookies?!
I have a treadmill and if you are only walking it may be better on your joints but when the weather is nice I'd rather walk outside. I do use it in bad weather.
"WandaVision" doesn't look good to me. It looks strange. Enjoy your weekend!

    1. I can resist the thin mints but it's a different story when it comes to Samoans.

  7. When DH was working some folks would
bring the order form into the office
and they would sell their daughter's
    cookies!

  8. As a former troop leader, I don’t miss cookie season. The photo thing is creepy. We have a gym in our basement with all of that equipment. I love the rowing machine. Cycling hurts me knees. The treadmill seems to burn twice as many calories as the elliptical based on mileage. That’s my rundown!

  9. every time I see a girl scout now I scream' get thee behind my fat thighs satan.'..I can't get into Wandavision at all..and I'm sorry I'm really looking forward to Coming2America ..

  10. I don't go shopping nearly enough. I've apparently missed the girlscouts entirely for the third year in a row. By the time I get my samoa fix, I'll be a fit and trim man again.

We have an elliptical and a cycling machine in our basement. I like the cycling one better because it doesn't leave me gasping for air as much but they are both easy on the joints. I have a bad knee so I have to go easy on them.

"Your royal penis is clean!" I remember as a kid just loving Coming To America but I think I will take a pass on the sequel. I'd like to think I've matured a bit.

    1. I am hoping my maturity is why I am passing on it as well, Ed. Hope you get your Samoa fix.

  11. Everyone raves about the Peleton but it's expensive. I had an exercise cycle and hated it, although the newer models are much more comfortable and allow you to do other activities (like read) while "cycling." I ordered GS cookies; they're not doing store sales here. The Samoas are dangerous for me to have around though.

  12. I dodge any kid salesman at the doors, or if I get caught I say something lame like "I just bought some from my grandkid". I know, I'm terrible.

  13. Oh, how I hate when they re-arrange the grocery store! Hmph. In case you aren't sure, or need some old biddy words, hmph is one of those. Very handy.
I already bought my girl scout cookies ~ no, I don't want to eat them, I plan to give them away as my rear view is beginning to broaden to an alarming degree.
I didn't really get into WandaVision, but to be fair, I only watched 2 episodes.
I use my treadmill, but as it is an older version, I don't want to stress it out by running on it. :D I also don't plan on watching Coming to America II until it's free on tv, :-)
