Mr. Shife's February Frenzy Day 16

I knew today was going to be a long day at work but I don't think I was quite prepared how draining it would be.

Coming back after a long weekend is always no bueno but having 11 meetings on my calendar is mucho perturbadora.

And 5 of those meetings involved me being in charge so I had to actively listen and participate.

I know I have been complaining about work a couple of times recently but it's not usually this bad.

My manager is leaving at the end of the month and we had 3 new employees start last week so there is a lot of onboarding and training before she departs.

But I ended the day taking Hayden to swim lessons and getting 30 minutes of quiet time and I spent that half-hour trying to kill stuff.

You can download some pretty awesome games on your phone.

I will try and do better tomorrow.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  2. You know some video games can be a great way to deal with your frustrations. After a long weekend that means today was your Monday, ouch. I remember those weeks at work where you just wanted to run away screaming. I hope the bad is not too bad, the new employees learn fast and are helpful and the meetings are short, few and far between! Take care of yourself!

  4. Hmmm, 30 minutes of quiet time spent trying to kill stuff. If that's not a writing prompt I don't know what is.

  5. Sorry work has been a bummer. My DIL just started a new job and introduced me to the term ‘onboarding.’ In the olden days, we called it orientation!

  7. Oh, the Zoomed-out reality of working from home during the pandemic. I feel you. After five hours in front of a camera, I feel like I don't want to type anything for a day. Especially because it's so difficult to keep people's attention for so long.

I'm glad you got to smash big things in the little screen. I have yet to get into video games, to tell you the truth.

    XOXO
