Drawing A Blank

This meme reminded me of the Pictionary games we played last week at the Shifley hacienda.
Whenever I would get a card, I could visualize it in my head and it looked amazing.
But when I would put pencil to paper, it turned out a lot like the picture on the right.
Can you guess the drawing below?

If you guessed a sea turtle with a recent breast augmentation surgery, then you are 100% wrong.
It's a camel.

You chose poorly

We recently added a new phone line to our account.
Out of all the numbers to choose from, I picked the one that used to belong to someone that is trying to avoid debt collectors, interested in amazing auto insurance deals despite having bad credit, eligible for a free government grant, and curious about scholarships to the Trident Throwing Academy in Tashkent, Uzbekstan, the international online university for military-minded folks who love classical mythology.
So one of those scenarios might be not true.
I will let you decide.

Updates

I was posting on the blog twice a week and that was going OK.
Then I got COVID and I am back to once a week.
To help me get back into the groove, I think I will update every day in February and see how that goes.
I enjoy writing - for the love of fat bassets I wrote a book (shameless plug) so I better enjoy it - but it is an activity that definitely needs work on a regular basis to keep it in shape.

Meme of the week

Well, that is all for now.
Take care, thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. I just dropped your book onto my amazon wish list.
and I thought your drawing was a stegosaurus.
hope you and your family are doing well.

  2. Camel, huh? I thought it was a caterpillar morphing into Dolly Parton. Silly me! I just kindled your book. Now there it sits on my dusty e-shelf amongst the couple of hundred mysteries, police procedurals, m/m smut , shifters and To Kill a Mockingbird. I hope you get royalties. I had to shell out .99 cents! I'm glad you're feeling better.

  3. Your words strike deep. I have told my wife many times that my drawing skills seem to devolve to that of a three year old when I am held to a timer. I too am a stay at home dad, lost my mother recently and now have had the pleasure of Covid. I took that as a sign and now have your book on order for a Monday delivery.

    1. Finished your book. I had to stop and take periodic breaks as my fascial muscles would get worn out from laughing. I wouldn't recommend your book to anyone recently getting over Covid and having breathing issues. Other than that, I would highly recommend it.

For all of us. And back to boring politics.

  6. I can totally relate to the moon meme. I’m also not good with a pencil!
For years, one of my kids got collection calls on her cell phone. I finally had to start returning the calls and letting them know they were harassing a minor. Believe it or not, it worked! But they were legitimate businesses.

  9. Lol, I did not see a camel at all....I saw more of a woman with really amazing boobs lying on her back in a pool. : D
Love the dog meme, so cute!

  10. Are you sure the very realistic rendition of breasts and the very happy smiley face isn't misleading folks. Camels really don't look like that.

    1. These are fantasy camels, Joanne. I should have mentioned that.

  11. Well, there were two humps, so it's an Asian camel and not an arabian one... somewhere I have a pic of me riding a camel in the outback of Mongolia.

  12. A Hamster named Vagina... well, one of my Mom's American Friends used to think it so cute when Mom would say Oh, Shite in a very thick European accent, not knowing it was her equivalent for Shit... so they named their Cockapoo Dog Little Shite... Mom was mortified! I'm glad you're recovering from the Virus enough to be almost back to normal, I was worried about you, especially with you not blogging hardly at all.

  13. Yes that moon shot is so true. You see these great night scenes, take a photo and all they look like is a blur of white lights.

That last meme is so funny. :D

    I'm glad you are recovering.

  14. Like Anne, I guessed stegosaurus. I recognize the name of the person who used to have my phone number. I get a lot of calls from debt collectors and advertisements for male enhancements. I don't have any interest in 'driving her crazy', and have been blocking phone numbers for over a year now. Still they come.

  16. I am a terrible draw-er and games like that make me panic. Now that I know you're going to try and post every day in Feb., I'll try to stop by everyday. Notice the overuse of the word TRY :)

  17. I was going to say me when I was 25, but?
I am so sad you got covid..glad you are feeling better..kids and wife OK?

  18. A camel, huh? I was sidetracked by those perky breasts. Really.
And posting is really cathartic, at least for me. It's my mental health check and it keeps me in touch with awesome people. What's not to like?
And why did you get a new line? Wait, is this a landline?

    XOXO

  21. I always think I can draw better than I actually can. Nothing looks like what I imagine. I have that same issue with my photos.
