Thanksgiving 2020 Recap

Two trains leave different cities heading toward each other at different speeds.
Train A, traveling 70 mph, leaves Shifeville heading east towards Frizzleville, 260 miles away.
At the same time, Train B, traveling 60 mph, leaves Frizzleville heading west toward Shifeville.
If you can solve this problem, then I am proud of you, but I think you really want to know why it has taken Mr. Shife longer than usual to return to his blogging duties?

A) He has been on the run from an attempted assassination attempt by ninjas. He never saw it coming.

B) He joined the International Federation of Americans Against Blogging the Week After Thanksgiving (IFAABWAT).

C) He is still traumatized by a dream that he had that he was free falling to the Earth dressed as Abe Lincoln holding purple sex toys.

D) He is still dealing with the ramifications of sucking the white fillings out of expired Twinkies.

E) He got his fingers stuck in a bowling ball

F) COVID-19

G) All of the above

Yes, unfortunately, the answer is F.
The Shifleys got COVID-19.
Mrs. Shife started feeling ill around Thanksgiving.
She had a fever, headaches, bodyaches and still has no sense of smell or taste.
Hayden got a really bad cough but felt better after a day.
Kyle had a fever and low energy for a few days but is feeling fine now.
I didn't start getting any symptoms until Sunday.
I have had a fever, chills, headaches, congestion, backaches, kidney pain and chest pain.
I haven't lost my taste or smell... yet.
The worse part for me was the back pain.
I had the hardest time getting comfortable enough to sleep and when I did, it would only last for 15-20 minutes.
Everytime I think I am feeling pretty good, another symptom pops up.
Yesterday, it was a mind-numbing headache.
Today, it is being completely plugged up.
Fingers crossed that Mrs. Shife and I are feeling better soon.
If all goes well, our quarantine should end late next week.
Time for nap.
Take care and thanks for stopping by.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  7. I had it too and got bi-lateral pneumonia as well. I had a killer headache that wouldn't go away, very fatigued, couldn't eat or drink because it all tasted like crap, fever and body aches. Lost 10 pounds. That was the best thing that came out of it. Was out of work for 3 weeks. The only lingering thing is that I now get very winded when I talk at length. And at work, I have to talk and communicate. However, I feel very blessed to have made it through it, when so many didn't. I'm 63.
