Happy Birthday, Hayden!!

I am about to have a new favorite 9-year-old as Hayden gets a year older tomorrow.
Looking back through those years before she was born, I thought I didn't need anything else.
I didn't know it was possible to be a billion times wrong.
One of the greatest gifts I have known is that sweet daughter of mine.
Happy birthday, Hayden Belle.

Profile photo

Last week it was fashion mogul Mugato from "Zoolander."
Before that, it was Brian Johnson from "The Breakfast Club."
Now I am going with Cameron Poe from "Con Air," who is sporting what can only be described as having the hairstyle of the gods.
His mullet is quite magnificent.
If you are looking for me to share some reasoning behind those profile choices... well, prepare to be disappointed because I couldn't tell you.

Thanksgiving Break

I am taking off next week to enjoy some time with the family so I will talk to everyone on Dec. 1.
Despite COVID-19, I hope you still get to enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  5. I noticed the Cameron Poe profile on my blog right off the bat. It certainly is an attention getter.

I often wonder what life was like before kids. I no longer remember but that is alright because I couldn't imagine a life without them.

Thanks for the timely gardening tip!

  7. Happy birthday to your beautiful girl. I have a nine year old grandson, and he adores Calvin and Hobbes.

My favorite Nicholas Cage movie is Raising Arizona. I think it's hilarious. I may be the only person in the world that does. PS He has a pyramid shaped tower in the same cemetery as Marie Ledoux the voodoo queen is buried. I saw it when I toured the history cemetery. It's covered with lipstick kisses.

    Ick.

  14. Birthdays are so special when you're a kid. I hope her day was wonderful.
There were times when my children were growing up that I forgot to recognize what an amazing gift they were. Forgot to appreciate every moment. In the immediacy of paying bills, making sure they were fed and had dental care and shoes and were doing okay, I forgot to appreciate them as amazing people in their own right.

It sounds like you're not making that same mistake.
