Kyle might be a hockey player for Halloween this year.
He already has the hair and now he has the smile.
He lost three teeth Sunday night.
He was in his room reading when came out to the TV room to let us know that he lost one.
"Awesome," we said.
Then about five minutes later, we got the breaking news alert about another lost chiclet.
"What? No way?" we said.
And about 10 minutes later, it was deja vu all over again.
"Are you kidding me?" we said out loud.
Internally, Mrs. Shife and I both said something like:
The only time I ever witnessed a tooth forfeiture of this magnitude was a fight in college.
It was an interesting way to start the week.
- Speaking of Halloween, this is the latest in the year we have gone without buying costumes.
I am still not sure what our plan is going to be.
We would like to do something but I am not sure if "what we want" is going to factor into it as our city has shut down most of the planned activities for October 31. - Speaking of Halloween some more, here is some art Hayden made. I thought she did a great job.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a good rest of your week.

Have a good rest of your week.
I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.
the drawings remind me of MAD magazine's "fold-ins" on the back cover. your daughter has a drawing talent.
ReplyDeleteThanks, anne marie in philly. She is pretty awesome.
DeleteI agree with the guy in the yellow t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteHe is the 2020 spokesperson.
DeleteI love a pop up card, so those monsters are great. Three teeth in one day is crazy! Yeah, I feel as though our holidays are going to be in flux this year. The word is that trick or treating is up to communities, but I’m still not seeing anything official with the day and times.
ReplyDeleteWe are taking it one day at a time here. Today, we got to go back to school. We might just have our own Halloween party with our quarantine crew.
DeleteFirst, I LOVE the artwork. You should keep it, Mr. Shife! I kept some doodles my putative nephew made for me when he was five and I framed them. I know, I don't have children, so I guess that's why I like them.
ReplyDeleteSecond, three teeth? Well, that was something. Goddess. I remember I could not stand it when the teeth started to wobble. It freaked me out.
Halloween is going to be a difficult one this year. I don't think we have even thought about what to do if anybody comes to the door!
XOXO
Thanks, Sixpence. We have a large folder of her doodles and creations. She loves art. We just don't have any good programs around here. It's even worse with COVID-19.
DeleteThe art is great! Now, 3 teeth in one night? Before he even got the halloween candy? :-) So now you're broke as the tooth fairy. We are not having halloween this year. Oh well more candy for me.
ReplyDeleteThe tooth fairy had to borrow from Santa Claus.
Deleteoh my goodness!! The tooth fairy is going to
ReplyDeletego broke!
Loves Hayden's drawings.
take care, xoxo :-)
Thank you, AK!
DeleteThree teeth in one night! Wow, that could break the Tooth Fairy!
ReplyDeleteThe artwork it fantastic! She has some very creative talent! Like Anne said, these immediately reminded me of Mad magazine.
Thanks, Bonnie. I might have to research to see if she can create her own Mad magazine fold-ins.
DeleteI Love Hayden's Halloween Art. You must have a good return on the Tooth Fairy Payout, are you sure Kyle wasn't just yanking good Teeth for that incentive? *LOL* I actually had one of mine prone to trying that, we had to clarify that only NATURALLY lost Teeth are valuable to the Tooth Fairy and she can tell the difference. Otherwise he might have been yanking out permanent rather that baby Chiclets!
ReplyDeleteThere was a bold tailor who got three with one blow. (Anderson or Grimm, don't remember which). It wound him up with a princess, I think.
ReplyDeleteHayden seems to have art and imagination nailed.
Are you sure Kyle isn't chiseling the teeth out for extra coins?
ReplyDeleteAnd Hayden's artwork is wonderful. Such a talent.
Love the artwork; that's some imagination. Faith was so dramatic about her teeth coming out. Even if it was dangling she didn't want anyone helping it out. Hope the tooth fairy didn't have to make a cash machine run to cover it :)
ReplyDeleteLove the monster art, we did a similar thing with a fish swimming sideways, now I'm going to share this art idea with some of my kids via email.
ReplyDeleteThe tooth fairy better get a bigger bag.
Kyle almost looks like a teenager in that first photo. My kids still haven't figured out what they want to be for halloween yet. Must be a 2020 thing.
ReplyDeleteholycrap...he's doing magic
ReplyDeleteOoh! She did do a great job.
ReplyDeleteThree teeth lost in one night sounds like some sort of record.
aww... sound Kyle growing up well.....
ReplyDeletescary .....to see "monster" drawn by Hayden.... yes, she did great job.
