Random Acts of Shifeness - Happy Anniversary

  • Mrs. Shife and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary today.
    Number 16.
    I know.
By the beard of Zeus, how in the wide world of fudge did that happen?
I am a lucky guy and Mrs. Shife is the best thing that ever happened to me.
What are we doing to celebrate?
Well, the anniversary gift idea is wax.
Quick. What was the first thing you thought of?
    I thought of this:

That is the waxing scene from "40-Year-Old Virgin" in case you were wondering.
I don't think Mrs. Shife would be happy if we went that route for our anniversary plans.

  • A few of my favorites this week:
Quote --> Love people. Use things. The opposite never works.
I have been guilty of the opposite more times than I care to admit.

New TV show -->"Raised by Wolves" on HBO MAX
It's a pretty rad sci-fi show from Ridley Scott if you are into that type of thing.

Old new to us TV show --> "Schitt's Creek"
It took us a while to get on this bandwagon but we finally made it.

    Screenshot:

I really wish I could remember when this happened. Oh well.

    Worst book title:

So much to unpack here but today is not that day.
It is available on Amazon if you want to learn more about this drug-addicted filly.

    Hack:

This could be helpful as there's an aluminum shortage.
You know what that means... fewer beer cans.
For the love of fat bassets, this is not the news I need this week.
I wonder what words of wisdom Latawyna the Naughty Horse would have for me.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a lovely weekend and I will talk to you soon.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. I tried the first episode of Schitt’s Creek a few years ago and didn’t like it, but since it won all those awards, I’ve been thinking of trying it again. I’m in need of some laughs! Your son is clever with the sausage thought.

  2. I've never heard of the wet wrap in the freezer trick. I'll have to try it just for fun.

  3. Happy Anniversary.
Maybe a candle instead of the couplers waxing sessions????

    1. Thanks, Bob.
A candle would probably make more sense.
That sentence made me think of those candles Gywneth Paltrow is selling that smell like her vagina. https://shop.goop.com/shop/products/this-smells-like-my-vagina-candle?country=USA

  6. Happy Anniversary to you both! Celebrate and be happy! "Schitt's Creek" is one we have not watched but I keep hearing about how good it is - let me know what you think. ; )
I love Kyle's response of looking for the night time sausage! The bottle hack works well - Tom does it a lot and loves it.

Enjoy your anniversary and I'd stay away from wax if I were either one of you.

Good to know about the bottle hack.
It took a bit but Schitt's Creek really grew on us.

  7. How lucky shows hang out on Netflix a long time. Still there after we didn't like them the first time.

  8. Happy anniversary! Ours is in a few months....not sure how we're going to celebrate it during this fun filled pandemic! Maybe we'll pull out all the stops on a nice dinner ~ that we cook ourselves :D
I have not watched Schitt's Creek, but perhaps we'll try an episode or two...
I would probably like Raised by Wolves, but me no have HBO.......
Latawnya? No wonder the horse has a drug problem.....
Kyle was right on! Night sausage! Hahahahaha

    1. Thank you.
I think Raised by Wolves first season ends soon so then you get a free trial of HBO Max and just binge it.
I am sure we can find a market for night sausage.

  10. Happiest of anniversaries a day late.
Ours is coming up November 1.
40 years. No, not a typo.

Nightime sausage is funny. :-D I love the things kids say. One of the reasons I miss my job so much.

I LOVED Schitt's creek, but it took about four episodes for me to really get into it. I thought the characters were annoying and shallow but the longer I watched, the more depth I saw and the more empathy I felt for all of them. I particularly love Stevie, she just appeals to my sense of humor quite a bit. I think it's a wonderful show and the awards were well-deserved.

    1. Thanks, Ami, and congrats to you on your upcoming anniversary.
It took us a while to fall in love with Schitt's Creek as well.
I like Roland but I have always been a big fan of Chris Elliot.

    1. Joint waxing would be horrible. I waxed my chest once and thought I was going to die. It was the worst.

  12. Yay!
Happy anniversary! Hope you had fun!
Wax, huh? I would also think about that movie scene, though. It's seared in my mind. LOL

And Schitt's Creek is delightful. It has some very nice lessons about family and love. The sixth and last season is coming up on Netflix in October, I think...

    XOXO
