Random Acts of Shifeness - Sharing is Caring

  • I love living in Idaho but the spring weather really pushes the limit on those feelings. Today we got up to 96 and the forecast for Sunday is 54. Sweet Lincoln's Mullet, that is a big swing.
  • I think I have shared this before but Idaho doesn't have your typical four seasons.
We are currently in "actual spring" as we just had mud season.
Hell's front porch is the two weeks where it's nothing but triple digits.
Usually, late July and early August.
But, thank the fat bassets, there's no humidity.
I lived in the Midwest and I definitely do not miss 95 degrees and 1000% humidity in August.

  • If I ever I had to explain humidity to someone this is what I would tell them:
  • Are you familiar with the movie "Friday?" If so, then you might also be familiar with "Bye Felicia."
I never thought it was a term of endearment or a positive expression and that is why I was perplexed that the realtor that sold the house recently in our neighborhood used it. I am a "dumb, white guy" and she probably doesn't care what I think but I still would like to know why the realtor thought it was good marketing.

  • A memory from 2014 when my little daughter was 3 and I was concerned that she was never going to have long hair. Looking back, it turns my concerns were dumb and her hair grew just fine.

I will persevere. I will keep moving forward. I will be the stream.

  1. I love your list of 12 seasons! I understand some of it living in Missouri where the temperature can easily jump from cold to hot or vice versa in just a few hours. That realtor is a bit strange to put that on the sign. Is her name Felicia maybe? I hope you get a good neighbor!

  2. Bye Felicia isn't a positive statement so that is indeed not only a strange marketing Tool, but could be offensive to the Seller I would imagine, if they know what its definition is? *LMAO*

  3. Lol, some kids take awhile for their hair to "take off". My sis had very little hair until she was two! I do appreciate the comparison with Jim Carrey though, hahaha

  4. Hangeth in there! We've already
    started Fire Season.
    take care, xoxo :-)

  5. Oh, dear. You've never lived in Vermont, have you? Well, 'nuff said.

  6. Hell's Front Porch sounds pretty sucky. I'm intrigued by False Fall, however. Humidity blows; I'm grateful to live where I live as it's a nice, semi-arid climate.

  7. If you would like to swap weather conditions with me I would be happy to arrange it.... UK weather is so unpredictable.

  8. Texas has 4 season...4 minutes of spring..summer, hot summer and fuck someone kill me.

  9. Hahaha! I love the "Idaho's twelve seasons" - we're on our third spring here, having had two sorta-summers after our third winter :) Last week - shorts and tank tops. Today, long pants, two layers on top, and socks.

What an adorable picture of Haley!

  10. I have never been to Idaho, so I'll take your word for it.
It does seem that seasons are absolutely crazy all over the place, though. It's like a combo Spring-Summer in Chi. But we've been known for having all four seasons in one month, so there's that.
